He married Dorothy Ellen Hallmark, they had two children, Jennifer 1948 and John.He as in the British Army WWII, and retired to Aldershot, later Blacon Chester. I am trying to find details about ancestors / descendants of Joseph Porter, b 1806, d 1843. In the 1841 census he is shown married to Catharine and is a cabinet maker living at St John's Lane, Gateshead. They had 7 children, Hannah, Jane, Joseph, Fanny Ann, Catharine, Elizabeth and Isabella. After his death his wife married Isaac Penrith and had 2 more children Henry & John.
I am interested in finding out where he was born, how he died at such a young age and who his parents were.

Searching for information on g.g. grandfather George Reed Hedley, son of John Hedley, born c1821 in Gateshead. In 1844 he married Mary Hobson at Monkwearmouth, Durham. Known children of the marriage are Elizabeth Ann, John H, George, Mary, Sarah Jane and James. In 1851 they were living in Monkwearmouth, then relocated to Hartlepool. I have the history of Elizabeth Ann, but nothing of the rest of the family. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Thomas Sparke Dixon

I know that my grandfather Thomas Sparke Dixon (born 1878) moved to Faraday Grove, Gateshead (from Kitty Green in Allendale)when he married Henrietta Bell in 1904 and he was still there in 1911. But after that census his whereabouts are unknown, although he did not die until sometime in the 1930s.If anyone knows anything at all of him, I would be most grateful to hear. He worked in the Iron foundry in Gatehead, having been a leadminer in Allendale. I have extensive information about other Dixon family relatives but Thomas Sparke Dixon remains elusive after 1911.

John Gregory Wilkinson worked on the railways, he married Margaret Scott in 1853 their children include:Robert, Gordon, Annie, John born in the 1860s and Thomas and Frederick by his second wife Jane Irwin Wilkinson in the 1870s.
Robert wilkinson married Elizabeth Maria Nixon in 1889, they moved to Cowpen Bewley and had four children: Olive, Norman, Douglas and Horace in the 1890s. Does anyone know anything further on this family?

Looking for ancestors of George William Spedding, born 14.9.1903, who lived in Greatham, and was a bricklayer by profession. Married to Alice (nee Naisbett) they had a daughter, Marjorie (my mother) born 8.5.36. Alice died 1937 aged 29 and George went on to marry again to Jessy and had two further children, William Leslie Spedding and Barbara Spedding. He was buried in Greatham churchyard (close to the present day war memorial.)
