Mount Oswald Manor, Elvet, Durham - Durham
Looking for info about Mount Oswald around 1914. It is the address given for my g-grandmother, Mary Monica Shorney on her marriage cert. She married Charles Curran, of Sniperley Hall in July 1914. John & Alfred Eltis - Durham
Hi I am looking for information regarding John Eltis born c1857 So Shields County Durham. Married to Ann (no maiden name known). John was a seagoing Engineer. 1881 census records show them and their son Alfred 1880 (my great grandfather) living at 21 Glebe Cleft Villas sunderland. In the 1901 census John was on a steam ship called the Douglas docked at Hetton Drops River Wear St Stephen Sunderland. Alfred married Annie Robinson and they had seven children to my knowledge but I also believe they may have lost 3 daughters also Winifred (1902-1995) Sidney? (1903) Jack (1906-1971) Alfred 1910 George (my grandfather 1913-1977) Iris (1916) and Basil (1920) C1948 Alfred , Annie and some of their children (I believe Alfred, Jack and Iris) emigrated to Australia using the 10 pound ticket. I believe they ended up in the Queensland area but not sure. If any of these names mean anything to anyone please contact me.

Patrick McBride married Mary Lowery at St.Godrics in 1884. Their daughter, Mary Ellen McBride m. Patrick Sloan (my maternal grandparents). Mary Ellen appears on the 1891&1901 census in Framwellgate but I cannot find a record of her birth or her premature death in the 1918 flu epidemic. Morse, William, Sarah - Durham
I'm looking for information in the town/city/parish of Durham, England. William Morse was a steel worker, married with (approximately) six children. (Walter, Charles, Kitty, Sarah Anne, Ann, Elizabeth.) William was well known in the town, and was born c. 1835. His daughter, Sarah Anne, was born c. 1864. William died c. 1881. Thomas Charlton - Durham
This man started my branch of the family in Tasmanis where he married Mary Watchorn on 5 August 1839. The only information on the marriage registration was his age (23) and his occupation of seaman. I can find no record of his death in Tasmania and he may well have left there permanently as there is some suggestion Mary married again in 1843

RICHARDSON - South Shields - Durham
I'm trying to find information on a Frederick RICHARDSON born in August 1904 in South Shields. His birth certificate says he was born at 20 Robert Street South Shields and that his mother was Isabella RICHARDSON. There was no mention of a father. He was raised by a family we think were called the GRIGGS but are unsure. They must have known his mother as he kept his last name. My mother-in-law Audrey(Fredericks daughter) was always told that her height must have come from the LANGLEYS which I'm assuming are related to his mother maybe. I have his marriage and death certificate's but they are of no help and mention nothing.I have checked both the 1901 and 1911 census' but with no luck. I would appreciate any help with this search. Hello. Im trying to piece together my great grandparents life. I know that they moved up to Eaglescliffe from Colchester and were there during the 2w war years. Alfred JOhn Howe (he was an outfitter or tailor), married Elizabeth Cottee and had I believe 7 children, (Arthur who was a travelling turf accountant attending race meetings, Jack, Louis who lived on a farm (Hill Crest farm) in yarm and later left his french wife to marry a landlady that ran one of the pubs in yarm and later moved to harrogate (she was called Mildred), Dot (Doris Kate) who remained a spinster,Minnie and others who i have not managed to trace as yet. I understand that Alfred left his wife in eaglescliffe to live in Harrogate where he still lived when he died.I would love to hear anything about this family. Thankyou
