Hi I am looking for information regarding John Eltis born c1857 So Shields County Durham. Married to Ann (no maiden name known).
John was a seagoing Engineer.
1881 census records show them and their son Alfred 1880 (my great grandfather) living at 21 Glebe Cleft Villas sunderland.
In the 1901 census John was on a steam ship called the Douglas docked at Hetton Drops River Wear St Stephen Sunderland.
Alfred married Annie Robinson and they had seven children to my knowledge but I also believe they may have lost 3 daughters also
Winifred (1902-1995) Sidney? (1903) Jack (1906-1971) Alfred 1910 George (my grandfather 1913-1977) Iris (1916) and Basil (1920)
C1948 Alfred , Annie and some of their children (I believe Alfred, Jack and Iris) emigrated to Australia using the 10 pound ticket. I believe they ended up in the Queensland area but not sure.
If any of these names mean anything to anyone please contact me.

I am searching for as much information regarding George Nelson, who died 1776. I do not have his actual date of birth. George was a Salt Officer in Durham under the reigns of George 11 and 111.
But according to the family tree that I have; George Nelson was a Mason of South Shields; Chapelry of St. Hild Co., Durham. His children were as follows: William Born 1750; died June 10,1834; Married Jane Dise (1765-1846), an American: Jonathon; no other information regarding Jonathon: Dorothy; who married Benjamin Golightly; no other information provided for her as well.
