Henry Burt born 1790 sought. - Dewlish, Dorset
One of my wife's ancestors is Henry Burt, apparently born 1790 Dewlish Dorset. This date and place is supported by every census entry till his death, but we can only find a Henry Burt born in 1780. The 10 extra years would make him 99 years old on his death, as well as conflicting with all census data.
It is possible that he was: A- born not in Dewlish but elsewhere. We continue to test this but no hits so far; or B- born at a time when baptism entries attracted a fee (this fee applied in the years around 1790); or C- baptised in a non CE church. We struggle to identify which would be likely ones.
