My great great grandfather was George Stroud , who was born in Dorchester in about 1811. He died in 1846. He married Elizabeth Hutchings. He started a firm of Coachbuilders which was named Stroud and Co. which was at 6, High Street Dorchester.I have a large amount of information but don't know who his parents were or if there were any siblings. Am looking for decendants of a William Durden who lived in Dorchester. His Son Ernest went to america in around 1913 with his wife but died 5 years later. I dont know if they had any children.
I know Williams father was the mayor of Dorchester in 1881- any info on this or pics would be appreciated.

Seeking any info on the Steele family that included Stephen and Amelia, Millers at Frogmore and Drayton mills East Meon in the early 1800s, their parents, Stephen and Lucy (nee Tull)and their descendant, Edward who moved to Dorchester and became a draper and magistrate in that town in the latter part of 19th century, and of course any other ancestors or descendant links. CHARLES & JANE were married 27 July 1797 in Fleet, Chickerell. On 1841 census JANE OLDRIDGE age 65 was living with her daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Thomas Randall & grandaughter Eliza in the village of Chickerell. JANE died in 1850.
WOLDIGE has many variations, OLDIGE, OLDAGE, OLDRIDGE. HORDEN could be HURDEN. Would appreciate any info on these families
