Henry Coles 1851 census - (Plymouth - Devon)
Thomas Henry Coles married Elizabeth Lydia Kent at Plymouth in early 1854. Thomas John Coles was supposed to have been born in 1854 also but am having trouble finding him. Henry was given as an architect on TJC's death certificate. If anyone can tell me how to access the 1851 census or knows how to find other relevant info i would appreciate hearing from you. I am researching the families of Shaw and Cook. My research started in Devon where most of them were born and several were shipwrights. A few other names are: Fox, Hodge, King,Talbot, and Bird. Some of the areas they lived in besides Devon are Redruth, Cornwall, St. Pancras, Bethal Green, Canning Town, West Ham.

Witheridge--MoriceTown, Stoke Damerel, Devonport - (Plymouth - Devon)
Has anyone information about the Witheridges of Stoke Damerel? I am interested in Richard Witheridge "a mariner" and Isabelle / Isabella Talleck or Atherton specifically as well as their children. The ones I know of are Isabella Witheridge (Davis), Elizabeth Witheridge, and Lucy Witheridge. In 1841 they lived at 4 Moon Street, Morice Town. I haven't been able to find Richard and Isabelle after 1841. I have a half-baked theory that either one or both died (cholera?) before 1851. In 1851, Elizabeth and Lucy are found in orphanage records. Isabella married Russell John Davis in Stoke Damerel in 1852.

I'm after any information / connection poeple have about my ggg-gdad William H Lawrence. he was born in Plymouth & with his dad had a fireworks business at 54 Kings street. William also went to America doing a punch & judy show where he met his wife Hanna. When William died, one of his children carried it on. Sally E. was born approx 1805 to Joseph Williams at Plymouth. At the time of her marriage to Sibbs Richard Leech, 1837 at Dartford, Kent, she was a widow with the name of Vincent. Sally's father was employed at the Woolwich Dockyard as a smith.

Seeking information on Edward Albert Woodgate's(born 1863 - migrated to Australia) line of relatives in England. Father John (Master Mariner- believed died at sea ,had Bible with Captain Elisha Woodgate's name in it)and wife Harriet (Farley - Barnes - Clatworthy) lived at 38 Treville St. Plymouth in 1863. 1881 Census has Edward living with his widowed mother at 60 Old Town Street with her sister Esther Jane Farley(outfitter dress) and brother-inlaw Joseph Hy Easlick (timber reducer dockyard - later ladies outfitter) Their sons were - Fredk. Chas Easlick (Em'er) Harry Joseph Easlick (Postal Clerk) Alfred Ernest Easlick (Ironmonger's Ass.) Albert Edward Easlick (Ironmonger's App.) In the 1891 Census they were at the same address.

Pearson, Edward Thomas Tremaine - (Plymouth - Devon)
My great-great grandfather Edward T.T. Pearson was born Abt. Dec 25, 1835. He came to the United States sometime in the period 1868-1872 or 3 as he married in Feb 3, 1874. He came from Plymouth but am not sure if he was born in Plymouth. He came with a picture of his mother which was taken in 1868. We believe her last name was Tremaine and her first name Mary. We also belive his father's name was John. Any information would be helpful. Maybe the 1851 or 1861 census would help but I don't have anything on those two census' here in the United States.

Does any one remember the harris brothers?Edward,john,william,albert,leslie,they were originally from 35 third avenue camelshead,when their father,john henry bidder harris died in 1916. they then moved to southside street,barbican until 1944 when their mother ethel mildred harris died.The brothers then moved to, the batter street area behind the dolphin pub,the youngest brother leslie left in 1944 aged 22,and was never heard of again.(Sarah bidder?)Leslies mother may have remarried to a Mr gates ? .

Sarah Jeffery c1888 She was born according to 1901 census in Ilfracombe. Married her first Husband William Anstead in Exeter in 1911. In this marriage she had 2 Daughters Alice and Winifred. Her second marriage was to William Charles Summerfield 1891 at East Stonehouse Plymouth in 1918. In this marriage there were 5 children, William Charles 1919, James (Jim) 1923, Peggy 1924, Syd 1927 and Patricia c1929. The only other details I have for her is that her Father's name was Thomas who was a Foreman in HM Dockyard and she had a brother named Tom and a Sister named Susan. Any details at all on this family would be appreciated.

Broadbent family from York - (Plymouth - Devon)
Mary Ann Broadbent (Born 1846? in Leeds), was widowed around 1880, moved the younger half of her family to Plymouth in the 1880s and was a "Dealer in Berlin Wool & Art" in Plymouth. Any info on her children Amelia, Jane, Alice or William would be appreciated.

Caroline Balson - (Plymouth - Devon)
Caroline Balson immigrated to Australia in 1837 with her sister Mary Anne and brother in law Charles Taylor. She was aged 17 years and a Catholic. On her death certificate it states that her parents were Arthur Balson and Margaret Bourke. I have not been able to trace any of these people in Plymouth, excepting for the marriage record of Mary Anne and Charles at Stoke Damerel. Caroline's death certificate also states that her father was Manager of Plymouth Dockyard. Also, no luck tracing or substantiating this. Any help appreciated.

Hi, Could anyone do a lookup please for the 1841 1851 and 1861 census of Devon and Cornwall for a Robert C Norgate husband of Ann! formerly Collings. He was a mariner. His wife and children are on the 1871 cornwall census and his wife is shown as a widow. His first son also Robert was born in Millbrook, Cornwall, in 1857 and the other children born 1863 onward in Liverpool. I think they must have moved from Millbrook to Liverpool sometime between 1857-1863. Their first address shown in Liverpool is 245 Athol Street, District of St Martin in the County of Lancaster.
