John Bunclark married Elizabeth shears. Their eldest daughter Mary, married Abraham Hill 20/7/1762. Mary's youngest brother, Edward married Ann Punchard, and their daughter Mary married George Wyatt in 1813. George and Mary's son George, married Jane Gray or Eales. Edward and Ann Bunclark's daughter Elizabeth married Robert Foot possibly in Staverton. Edward Bunclark died at Highercoomb, Staverton in 1833. Ann Bunclark died in 1837 at Staverton. I am descended from Mary Jane Wyatt the eldest child of George and Jane Wyatt who emigrated to N.S.W in 1848. Would love to hear from any person connected to these families as I have a piece of crockery that was given to George and Jane by one of their parent's before they left Devon, think is was Georg'es mother.

Thomas Sharland (christened at Stockleigh English on 15 November 1769) married Ann Haydon (born 2 June 1772 at Crediton) at Stockleigh English on 1 April 1794. They had at least one child, Elizabeth (christened 24 August 1794 at Stockleigh, died 29 Sept 1864 and buried at Bishopsteignton) Elizabeth married Richard Holeman at St James Church West Teignmouth on 27 June 1827. I am trying to find any information about a Mrs Phyllis Walls (nee Tonkin) who lived in a house called Rosemont in or near Stoke Fleming in 1919. She had two sons ( at least). John was a blacksmith in Stoke Gabriel before he and Eliza emigrated with their family to South Australia, Australia. The family they took to SA were Elizabeth Mary (1839), Thomas John (1841), John Crossing (1843), Eliza Martin (1845), Selina Henrietta (1850), William (1853). George M (1845) died before they embarked. Rhoda (1856) and George Henry (1858) were born after their arrival.

RICHARD NOSWORTHY - Stokenham
Richard Nosworthy (a direct ancestor) was living in Stokenham in 1820. He married Mary Inch in 1820 (at Slapton). He was a labourer at 'Coleridge' and later at West Alvington. I cannot find any trace of a baptism in any of the surrounding villages. Anyone have any connection or idea where he might have come from? He would have been born around 1792 but he died before the 1851 census so I have no idea where he was born.

MEDLAND FAMILIES IN STOKENHAM / ST. BUDEAUX / STOKE DAMEREL - Stokenham
I an currently looking for anyone descended from any Medland families who lived at Stokenham or St. Budeaux in the late 1700s. or Devonport in the 1800s. I am also missing a burial at St. Budeaux for Aaron Medland (born 1708) if anyone is able to look that up easily, and a death / burial for a Moses Medland (it's surprisingly common) possibly at Stoke Damerel between 1782 and 1833. Does anyone know if a transcription of monumental inscriptions or a detailed churchyard plan exists for St. Budeaux please? I know of the existance of two Medland tombstones there but I think there should be others. Also descendants of Joseph Medland (born 1772 at Stokenham) who married Ann Labdon at Stoke Damerel 08 NOV 1800

Looking for anyone connected with familes by the name of GUNN / MAY / or the unusual name of PAPY in the late 1600s early 1700s at Stokenham or nearby parishes. Dorcas Gunn married Stephen Papy 13 May 1704. I wondered if the name 'Papy' should be 'Patey' which was common in the area but their daughter was baptised Rebecca PAPY in 1705/6 and I have seen a few other instances of this curious name.

It has room for 130 paupers, & the parish forms a union & registration district under the new Poor Law; & in 1838, expended £3005.14s in maintaining its in & out door poor. Mr Richard Rodd is the union clerk & supt.registrar; Mr J Capron is relieving officer; Mr Joseph & Mrs Piercy are master & matron of the Workhouse.
