Thomas B. Jeffery automaker - Plymouth
I don't know anything about genealogy, but my father is quite involved with it and I will pass the site to him. I collect American Motors and Rambler cars. I am trying to research the founder of the company, a Thomas B. Jeffery, born 1845 in Plymouth, Devon. My information begins around 1863 when he immigrated to the United States, in Chicago. In 1892 he shared a patent for a clincher bicycle tire with an R. Gormully (sometimes spelled Gormley). By 1897 he had an operating horseless carriage,and by 1902 Thomas B. Jeffery and Co. wes the second maker in the US to produce 1500 autos (one year behind Olds, one year ahead of Ford). He died in 1910, I believe, in Pompeii, Italy.

William Kibby - Plymouth
William Kibby was born in Plymouth 25/12/1805. He was a mariner who later settled in Liverpool. His son, also William a mariner, was born in Plymouth in 1825. William (2) married Ann Gregory from Ormskirk in Liverpool in 1846. Any information re. the Kibby family in Plymouth before about 1846 would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am trying to find info. on my greatgrand parents.Mary Ann McDonald married Francis Henry Ruther in 1896 in Plymouth Register Office he was an able seaman in The Royal Navy.They had a daughter Constance Doris in1902 and Mary Ann died in 1905.I have various addresses of where they lived,St.Johns Road in district of Charles,Amity Place and she died in Shaftesbury Place.I am desperate to find out about the McDonald side of the family,her father was called John William and on her Marriage certificate it said he was also a seaman in R.N.but was deceased.I am unable to find her birthplace so I have come to a dead end.I would be so grateful for any info.to help me continue!

I am trying to locate details of Timothy Foley who was a seaman from HMS Acasta in 1806 when he married Mary Piner in St Andrew, Plymouth. I have details of two children Timothy b. 1813 and Henry b. 1815. I would like to find out if there were any other children. Also I am looking for details of Timothy (snr) as I only have his marriage date, plus the fact that in the 1841 census his wife Mary was listed as a widow.

They were Anna married to William Stewart and Peter, Pittsburgh and Florida were the last reported places of settlement respectively in America. The others John and Agnes lived in the UK. The 1861 census has Agnes as a servant to the Cundys, John and his wife Charlotte living in Plymouth.Does anyone have any information as to how Agnes Hern,who had family in Calstock and Tavistock, reached Barrow on Furness as I cannot trace this period of her life. I would welcome any information about relations in the USA as I know that my father John Allardyce Buchanan had cousins in Florida. Thanks for any info.
