Le Corney of Stonehouse, plymouth
- Plymouth
I am researching the Le Corney family who lived in East Stonehouse, Plymouth, Devon. Father was John Le Corney who was described as a pilot/kings pilot/French pilot at his children's baptisms. He married Ann Davey (b.1790 in Wales) on 7 December, 1815 at Stoke Damerel, Devon. One of his children - Hannah Lucy, b. 1822 was my great-grandmother. She married a William Parkins in East Stonehouse in 1842. His other children were Eliza Davy (b.1818), Harriot Jane (b.1820) Edward Henry (B.1923), Tho's Beveridge (b. 1825, Sarah (b. 1829). I am curious about the terms 'kings pilot and 'french' pilot. Could anyone help with those terms or indeed help with this family.
