Edgcombe / Edgecombe in Modbury
- Modbury
I have recently taken the plunge and am attempting to trace my family (Edgecombe/Edgcombe) back as far as possible. They seem to be based mainly around Modbury in Devon.
I have had some success in that I have managed to go as far back as 1800 but have come unstuck beyond that.
To give you a brief line, working back starting with my great great grandfather:
Thomas Henry Mason Edgcombe b1862, Modbury, Devon. m.1885 Susannah Watkinson b.1856
>>>>>Richard Edgcombe b1824, Modbury, Devon. m.1848 Susan Blatchford b.1825 and m.1859 Susan Mason Ball b.1832
>>>>>John Edgcombe b1791?, m. Mary? Devon?
As you can see I have become lost at this point (at John) as any available records i have found have made it even more confusing.
