Thomas Patt/Jane Newcombe Descendents - Barnstaple
I have found that my gr. grandfather John Patt (son of Thomas & Jane Newcombe Patt) was born 1862 in Alverdiscott, Devon, UK. John Patt and his wife emigrated to New York in about 1891. I cannot find where John Patt married, whether it was in New York or in Devon, England. I have that John Patt married Emma Delve, daughter of George & Ann (Ridd) Delve of Barnstaple, Devon, UK. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this? Also, when they emigrated to the United States, Emma Delve, my gr grandma, left behind 2 small children to be raised by her parents, George & Ann Delve. The children were Emma (b. 1883) and William(b. 1888) Delve. I cried when I read this from the back of an old picture of my great grandma Emma. I had already found Emma and William Delve living with George and Ann Ridd in Barnstaple in the 1891 UK census with their mother, Emma Delve, when my uncle sent me the picture of my great grandma (Emma Delve) with the information on the children handwritten on the back of it. Is there any way to find if William and Emma Delve married and had children of their own? I would love to contact them. Any help with this would be SO appreciated! Thank you. Ruth, USA
