Maybe They Meant Lincombe In Devon Instead Of Lyncombe
- Lincombe
Wedding by Banns in Parish of WIDCOMBE and LYNCOMBE = maybe they meant Lincombe. The two families had links to both Somerset and Devon.
Thomas PAUL and Mary SPERRING or SPERRIN were married 1806 in Somerset by Banns in Parishes of Lyncombe and Widcombe. Witnesses at wedding William PAUL and C RUSSELL The above Thomas PAUL was a school teacher. His children included Sophia who married LARCOMBE, James Stephen PAUL who married Anna CHALKER and a son called Thomas Mitchell PAUL who was born 1826 inBath Somerset. James Stephen PAUL above married Anne CHALKER from East Budleigh in Devon. One line is this family is alleged to have gone to the USA. James Stephen PAUL and his wife did spend a brief time im USA but they eventually emigrated to Australia. Interesting in any descendants in this family wherever they are in the world.

Warwick
- Little Torrington
I am searching for information on the Warwick family from Terrington or Torrington Yorkshire about 1776.
My 6XGrand Father was John Warwick who married Mary Wharton in April 1776 in York. My 5Xgrand Father was also John Warwick born 1779 and married in 1801 to Elizabeth Lion. They had a son also called John Warwick born 1802 - died 1882. He was transported to Ausralia as a convict for stealing a hankerchief. Rumour in the family has it he was the BLACK Sheep of the family. Believed the family were Gamekeeper on an Estate.
John Warwick (3rd) in Australia married Margaret Molloy (b1806-d1881). They had a son Charles Warwick b 1847-died 1924.
If you have family members that fit let me know. I would love to hear from anyone about the Molloy, Lion and Wharton families.

John Hayes Coastguard
- Littleham
Hi
I am researching John Hayes who live in Little Bicton Place from abt 1841. He was Married to Margaret and according to the I.G.I they were born & married about 1833 in Little Bicton, but according to the censuses (1841-1891) they both came from Ireland(no county given. The family moved to Shaldon and live at Riverside. Between 1852-61 the family moved to Hoose, (Now Hoylake, Wirral). They had 7 children John, James, William, Margaret, Ellen, Mary & Catherine all born between 1837-1852.
When the family moved to Wirral the three boys stayed (I presume as their names do not appear in 1861 with their parents only the girls.
I may have found William's marriage to a Ada Jennetta Carr in East Stonehouse in 1870 which I have not confirmed. William's occupation is given as mariner, no sign of John or James.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
