Barton family of Honiton
- Honiton
My Great, Great Grandfather was Henry Barton, r/e census was born in Honiton. Devon about 1852-but, I am unable to find any Birth record for a henry Barton in Honiton for that year. I have however found a birth record for a Henry Barton for abt.1848 in Ottery St.Martin, Devon. It appears that Ottery St Martin is in Honiton District for census purposes. This Henry's Father was William Barton & Mother was Elizabeth Barton(I don't know her Maiden name)-The online Geneologist for Honiton, Margaret Lewis, who has been extremely helpfull casts doubt as to whether the surname for this Henry was Barton? Can anyone shed light on this?
Anyway, the correct Henry Barton married Mary Bishop(Daughter of William Bishop & Maria Sparkes) and lived in Honiton & their children were-Emilia, William, Walter & my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Barton b.-1880. Does anyone have any information r/e Henry Barton?
