Gould Brothers Left Dartmouth ca. 1663/4 for Hull, Massachusetts. Where were they from?!? - Dartmouth
Robert, Thomas and John Gould left Dartmouth, Devonshire ca. 1663/4 and landed at Hull, Massachusetts. They were "sent for" by Joan (Bishop?) Stone, the childless widow of John Stone of Hull, Massachusetts. Joan left her property to the Gould brothers and called them "her loving cousins." We suspect that they were in fact her nephews. Robert's descendants remained in Hull for quite some time; some of them use "Goold" as a surname. I am a direct descendant of John, who went to Connecticut to learn the tailor's trade and married Sarah Axtell, reportedly a close descendant of one of the regicides, perhaps even a daughter. John and Sarah lived in Long Island, New York for a time and ended their days in the Horseneck neighborhood of Caldwell, New Jersey. We have no firm information concerning just where the Gould brothers came from in England, and we have virtually nothing on the fate of Thomas. If anyone has leads on these brothers, please let me know.

Parkinson - Dartmouth
I'm looking for my grandfather, Archibald Elliot Parkinson. There does not appear to be any trace of him in the 1901 Census. The know facts are: In 1909 he was in Simonstown, South Africa and at that time still single. By 1914 he was married to Florence Constance Valentine Fenn and was a Corporal in the Royal Artillery. This was also the year my father, Archibald Thomas Parkinson was born and they were at the Garrison in Sheerness. In 1918 I believe he was in Swanley, Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey. For the period 1919 to 1924 he was in Singapore with my grandmother and father. I know they also spent some time in India, Pakistan and Ceylon. By 1941 he was a Major and also a Freemason. I have a letter in which it states that the Priory Lodge inTynemouth knew the family well. During the 1950's they were living in Dartmouth. Can anyone help and fill in some of the missing details?

I also have a photograph of a cottage owned by her parents with the word "Bracknell" written on the back. I don't know if this was 13 Railway Cottage and I have no idea what sort of an address "BGR, Hermon, CC" IS. Can anyone help please?
