Rawkerhayne Mitchell
- Colyton
I'm a descendant of John Mychell born 1410 of Rawkerhayne (Rockerhayne) near Colyton, Devon, England. My branch of the family moved to Ottery St Mary in the 17th century and resided there until the mid 19th when my ancestor moved to London. The family were originally yeoman farmers but took up the trade of butchers and fellmongers in Ottery, they also appear to have been religiously strong non-conformists . My website has details of extensive amateur and professional research into the Mitchell family with associated pedigrees (in plain text) dating back to 14th century and a gedcom for those with software to read this type of file. There are also photographs of Rawkerhayne farm house which is still in existance.
