Snow of Chittlehampton - Chittlehampton
Am looking to make contact with a resident genealogist of Chittlehampton who wouldn't mind having a look there in the graveyards for a Mary Snow buried sometime after 1861 she would have been about 80 years old at the time.Mary had a son Jonathan that would have been buried sometime later as he was 35 years her junior. The graves are most likely to be in the Methodist Chapel cemetery if they are to be found. I live in Canada and would try my best to do something here if needed. Please be advised that some places in Ontario where I live are more than a days drive from our home in the south of the province. William BERRY - Churchstanton
I am very confused now, as I have researched a William Berry from Churchstanton and have the following details:- William baptised c 1979 married Mary SILWAY 1st June 1820 at Upottery. I thought these were the William and Mary that were parents to myancestor Benjamine Berry baptised c 1827, who then married Mary Wilson on the 7th April 1850 and had my ggrandfather William in 1861. They lived at Smeatharp and William married Mary Ann Jennings of East Street Taunton on 24th August 1882, they had one daughter (my Grandma) Eva Mary Berry in 1883. William ( who was a thatcher) was killed in a carriage accident when very young and his widow married Eli Robins of Upottery. Can someone unravel which William Berry from Churchstanton was MY relative. I know that Benjamine Berry is mine as I have a wedding certificate for William and Mary Anne Jennings with Benjamine stated as the father of groom. Help

William Berry confusion clearer now - Churchstanton
Hi, I have spent 3 days in Churchstanton area researching the graveyards and once home did more research on the IGI. I am now certain that the details on the male side of this is correct, but William Berry married Mary Silway in Upottery 1st June 1820, had 4 children: Samuel 1823, Elizabeth 1825, Benjamine 1827 and William 1833 all the Churchstanton district at Smeatharp. I have searched back through and Found that Mary Hake married a William Berry at Combe St. Nicholas in December 1823, and had an illigitamate daughter by him in 1817 called Elizabeth and one called Anna born in 1824 after they married. Both births are registered in Combe St. Nicholas. The clue that alerted me to this was that Samuel Berry was born in 1823 at Smeatharp, aswas Elizabeth Berry in 1825. I could not understand WHY William Berry would have fathered Elizabeth at Combe S.N. then fathered Samuel in 1823 at Smeatharp, then get married at Combe St Nicholas in December, fathered Anna who was born at Combe S.N.in 1824 and then bounced back down to Smeatharp to father ANOTHER Elizabeth in 1825. However, everything fits into place if you search the IGI and find there was a William Berry born in Combe St Nicholas on 13 the June 1802, his parents were Luke and...
