I am looking for information regarding George Bowers born about 1767 in Buxton Derbyshire he married a lady called Sarah. George was a Cordwainer in Buxton. They had a daughter Mary Ann born about 1793. Mary Ann married Anthony Warrilow born 1799 at Caverswall Staffordshire on the 21st May 1820 at Norton in the Moors Staffordshire. They had 10 children born between 1821 and 1837 all of them with the exception George born 1829 were born in Longton Staffordshire George having been born in Buxton.

Shergold Warrilow Matthews - Buxton
Looking to find any information about an Emma Shergold born about 1865 in either Portsmouth or Stoke on Trent. Only other information is that at the time of her wedding on the 16th March 1885 she was described as 20 years of age and her Father George Shergold was described as being a Sailor. On the 16th March at Etruria Church Stoke on Trent she married William Warrilow born 23 Dec 1854 at Furnace Road Longton Stafforshire. They are believed to have had 12 children including Margaret Warrilow born 17 Jan 1893 at Tram Street Hanley. Margaret married William Matthews born in 1892 in Hanley on the 8th June 1919 again at Hanley. William Matthews is believed to have served in the Indian Army during the 1st World War he died on the 28th May 1940 at North Stafford Royal Infirmary

I am researching my Carrington ancestors from Bugsworth in Derbyshire. My Grandfather was Jesse Alfred Carrington(1886-1945), who married Martha Longson in 1908. My Great grandparents were James Carrington and Esther Drinkwater and they lived at Knowl Top farm in Bugsworth. I believe they had 13 children. My Great Great Grandparents were James(died 1881)and Mary Carrington and they also lived at Knowl top. I also have ancestors at Chapel en le Frith in Derbyshire but need to find out James' father Anthony's details and children (born about 1772 and married to Mary)

I am researching the family of Francis REVILL b.1787 in CASTLETON, Derbyshire. He married Alice MARSHALL in 1826 and they had two sons: William b.1827 and Francis b. 1834. I am descended from Francis who married Emma PARFITT in 1860 and moved to Bristol and finally settled in Somerset. I can find no information about William except that he probably moved to Sheffield after his father died in 1834. I should be very interested to hear from anyone who has any information about this small family.

Mark Rose = Isabella Allston - Castleton
I am looking for information about Mark Rose, who would have been born in Castleton around 1780. He had moved to Lancashire by 1804 and to Yorkshire by 1811, but he listed Castleton Derbyshire as his place of birth in later records. Another piece of information I have about him is that he worked as a weaver. I've searched Castleton records and found many instances of the surname Royse, but not Rose. Could Royse be a variant spelling for Rose? I would welcome any help!

Looking for links between the TATTERSHALL/TATTERSALL lines in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire and Stannington Nr Sheffield in Yorkshire. Thomas Tattersall (b 1804, Sheffield area) and Elizabeth WATTS (presumed b Stannington but possibly Derbyshire) lived in Stannington from at least 1830. Only marriage I can find is in Castleton in Derbyshire - and in later censuses there are other Tattersalls living in Stannington that were born in the Hope valley. Too much of a co-incidence? Anyone aware of family connections?

My Gt.Gt.Grandfather John Archer christened one of his many children in Castleton in 1834. His profession was "Toll Keeper" & address was Castleton on my Gt.Grandfather's birth record. I have found that there indeed was a toll gate not far from Castleton & would love to find which cottage was the Toll Keepers cottage at this time & if it is still standing. I am looking for Carrington's at Chapel en le Frith. My Great great grandfather was Anthony Carrington born 1772, He married a Mary who was born in 1780 and died in 1848 at Knowl Top farm, Bugsworth. His son James Carrington was born in 1811 and died in 1881, he is buried in front of St Thomas a Beckett church, his brother Anthony is in the next grave.
