I would dearly like any information about the family as they were my mother`s half siblings, but we do not have any information on their whereabouts after 1935, when William and Helen seperated.

Initially from Sedgley, Staffs my great grandfather Robert Tomlinson lived in Belper from c1866 until c1890. He married Sarah Ann Wheatley, daughter of Thomas and Martha Wheatley in 1868. They moved from Belper to Heanor, Derbyshire around 1890. I am particularly interested in finding any records of his son William who was born in 1870. I know that he did not move to Heanor with them and possibly got married and stayed in Belper.

my grm. Mary Hitchcock,(known as Polly) was the eldest daughter , her mother, believed to be Lucy Hitchcock, nee knowles, died in childbirth of youngest child Lenard. Family lived in or around Belper. Mary worked in Strutts Thread mill. Other siblings were Ruth, Frank, Thomas, Walter and others. Mary married Wm Lauder, immigrated to Canada early 1900'a Wm's mother maiden name believed to be Day. Lenards sons are Lawrence and Ronald. Mary(Polly) had 11 children, most born in Canada. I am interested in tracing family that remained in England, Marys sisters and bros, as well as Wm's. He had bro victor and sisters bertha, and Isabelle and theresa.Lauder family originally from near Glasgow.

I am researching the WHISKIN family. William (b1832) and Jane SHARP (b1837) lived in Alpine Cottage on Windmill Lane in Belper from about 1870 until at least 1903. Jane died c1895. William died in 1903 leaving a daughter, Henrietta. I have not been able to find her after that date. She was 34 at the time of her fathers death.

However spelt- this name seems to be based around mid-Derbyshire, especially HAZLEWOOD in the 19th century but SUTTON, HULLAND and BRADLEY in the 17th and 18th. Harrison - Belper
I am researching the William (1807-1884) and Charlotte (1806-1871) Harrison family of Holbrook near Belper. In the 1841 and 1861 census William was a farmer living at Holbrook. His family consisted of John (b1831) Mary (b 1833) Rodger (b 1834) Catherine (b 1839) Henry William (b1845) Elizabeth (b 1847) and Charlotte (b 1850). In the 1871 census William was living at Holbrook Moor with his wife Charlotte and children William and Charlotte. I the 1881 census he was a widower living with his son William and his wife Sarah at Holbrook Moor. I am interested in particular in his daughter Catherine, who married Robert Gowland in Thirsk Yorkshire in 1865. Catherine died in 1875 at Belper according to official records, but most likely with her family at Holbrook, leaving two children Roger and Kate. Her husband Robert remarried Rebecca Stanhope (b1839 at Crich) and emigrated with the children to Maryborough Queensland Australia in 1878. Kate was my wife's ggrandmother. Any information on the family appreciated.

Harry's mothers name was Lois(b)1838 in Kilburn Derbyshire, she immigrated to Canada with her son Harry and his family in 1890.I am assuming that they sailed out of Liverpool at that time. William Staples et al - Belper
I would be grateful for any information and leads about my Great Grandfather William Staples who was a “nailor” in Belper during the 1840s, or for any of the following. His son John, an agricultural labourer married Louisa Bunney (late Nyman) at St Alkmund’s Duffield in June 1847. Her father was Joseph Bunney. Their witnesses were Hannah Harris and William Hancock. All gave their residence as Belper.
