Any help please Great great grandmother born 1823 Derbyshire Married Thomas Seals in1844 in Duffield . ann was the daughter of a Samuel Brooks marriage certificate shows a John and Elizabeth Brooks as Witnesses.
Iwould love to know who her parents were, as I have managed to follow her from Derby shire onto Leith in Edinburgh and finally Poplar in London..

Duro Family

I am descended from the Durow family of Mapperley, Derbyshire. I wonder if the person searching the Duro family of Ilkeston has tried the alternative spelling as we have traced dozens of Durows, some of whom show up in Ilkeston.
There was a Richard Durow of Lichfield who married Mary Beardsley there in 1802 and then appears to have moved to Ilkeston shortly after his marriage. Richard and Mary had a whole raft of children and you could be descended from them.

Looking for information on the Plant family. James Plant (lacemaker) the son of Benjamin Plant (also lacemaker) married Sarah Holloway 1838 Crich, Derbyshire. Their son George was born 1840, Chesterfield. 1841 census shows them all living together at Basford, Nottinghamshire. Sarah died 1846 in Staffordshire with her brother as the informant. By 1851 census George was living with his mothers family in Tamworth, Staffordshire, his father was not present. Unable to pinpoint a death for James?? Anyone have any connections? It would have to be via James Plant as George Plant was apparently an only child.

Looking for decendants of Lena Rowley and her son, Henry Rowley, fron the Hanley/Heath Town/Smallthorne areas of Staffordshire. Lena was a potters paintress in the late 1800-early 1900 and had been living at 9 Nettlebank, Smallthorne in 1906. Henry moved to south ending up in Kent where he died. His only daughter wishes to make contact with her father's family to enable her to find the family she knows very little about along and has lost all contact with, and start her family tree for her children and grandchildren

Annie moved to Helpston nr Peterborough and married Thomas FIELDING (son of Joseph) and Louisa married and kept The Blue Bell public house at Glinton nr Peterborough. William was a paper maker. They came to Australia on the "Hannah More" in 1860 with John 18, Ann 14, Mary 11, William 10, Elizabeth 8, Arthur 4.
John christened 15 Nov 1841 St Werburgh (from IGI)
There was also a Henry James Yeomans christened 25 Jul 1847 St Peter, Derby (from IGI) d 2 Aug 1848
John & Ann's death certificates state they had 14 children,
7 must have died before they came out here.
I am trying to find out where they would be buried.

This is where hannah 1840 meets and marries thomas chadwick.

??Kingston?? Derbys per the 1901 Census and as Fulbeck, Lincs on the 1911 Census. Thomas went to India at some point and two of his sons Charles Edward and Robert were born there in the 1890's. He returned to live in Lincoln and married a widow Maria (Worthington) Gabbitas and has one more son Leslie Percy and two daughters, May and Lily. Trying to find Thomas's parents or birthplace. Birthplace maybe Kingston on Soar????

I'm desperate to find out information about my grandfather Samuel Wilkins who lived in the Slack Lane area of Derby. I believe he was born in 1902. He married Kate Brown of Derby on Christmas Eve, 1925. They had a daughter, Ivy in 1926 and Barbara 11 years later. I'm led to believe Sam may have been Irish, his mother was called Eliza. Sam died in 1940 from meningitis. He had brothers and sisters in the Derby area, one of whom may have been a butcher.

He married my grandmother Kate Wilkins (nee Brown)in Derby around 1940. He continued to live in Allenton, Derby until his death in February 1964.

Does anyone have information on Mary A Ashby, born in 1865 to John & Elizabeth (nee Elks).In the 1871 census she was living at 46 Duke St.St Alkmunds Derby, with her mother & grandparents but no mention of father. I cannot find any trace of her after that though she seems to have a brother Frederick born 1874, though no father's name was given on his birth certificate.
