Mellor-Horne-Swadlincote-Newhall-Darlaston - Swadlincote
I am trying to find out the origins of Hannah Mellor, born about 1800, who married William Horn(e) at Church Gresley, on the 13 Nov 1821. Hannah and William had five living children: William born 1820-1821, George, born about 1826; Sarah, born about 1828; Joseph born about 1832 and Elizabeth born 1835. Hannah was buried on 17 May 1838 about a month after her newborn son James was buried. All of the children were born in and around Newhall (a stone's throw from Swadlincote/Church Gresley). William Horn(e) (born Worthington Leicestershire c. 1800) then married an Elizabeth Watkins, in September 1841. At some time before the 1851 census the family moved to Darlaston, Staffordshire, where Elizabeth Horne met and married William Harper. Has anyone any information about either Hannah Mellor or William Horn(e) and their families/origins? I have hit a brick wall.

Woodeaves Mill
- Tissington
My great uncle John Hilton Yates was manager of the mill from around 1882 at least to 1901. He can be found there in the 1891 and 1901 censuses, and his second son Percy was born there in 1883. His first wife Sarah died in 1895, aged about 37, and eldest son Alfred in 1898, aged 16. I notice a mention of John Milton Yates but this must be a mis-spelling because he is clearly entered as John Hilton Yates in those censuses and his mother's maiden name was Hilton.
