Fairbank
- Norton Woodseats
My G Grandfather (Alfred Fairbank) was born to an Unknown Fairbank and an unknown mother. Alfred was brought up by Granny Booker, believing his name to be Booker. According to family folk lore, on the day of his marriage to Mary Lavinia Rhodes, (10 Feb 1889) Granny Booker enlightened Alfred to the fact that his real name was Fairbank. According to the wedding certificate his age was 22 making his birth date around 1866 or 1867.
NOTE: An Albert Booker was living with a family of Bookers (James head, Lucy wife and Edwin son) in a road called Abbey View in the Civil Parish of Norton. Albert has been recorded as a scholar, born in Yorkshire Sheffield. It is probable that this is Alfred Fairbank and that Lucy Booker was "Granny Booker.
Extensive searches have revealed nothing. If anybody has any further information regarding Alfred's parentage or suggestions please contact me.
