I am researching my Great x 2 grandparents, JOHN and MARY ANN JONES, who were resident in Ashford in the Water, 1871, 1881. JOHN was a gamekeeper on the estates belonging to Devonshires. On a recent visit to the church i discovered that they'd had 3 daughters all dying of 'fever' within a few months of each other, 1858/59

Tarr family - Ashover
Hello,
I am searching for anyone who has information that may help me to understand more about the Tarr family. William Tarr (originally from Mansfield b.1850/1) married a Mary Mowbray (of Ashover b.1852) and lived at Stonedge Ashover from the 1870's onwards to their deaths. They had numerous children, most who fled the area They also later in life (after 1901) owned the Red Lion there. Anyone who has more information, I would be very delighted to hear from.
Note: the census of 1881 calls this family Torr, which has caused a few problems while looking them up.

austin hardy - Ashover Hay
Desperately trying to get through a brick wall. Trying to find information on my Grandfather, Austin Hardy. Born 7.8.1885., in Ashover, Derbyshire.
He married a Betsey Whitehead in Bolton, 7.4.1906. They later moved to Liverpool with their 3 sons,William Henry Austin (Harry), John Stanley Newton, and Authur Leslie Melville Hardy.
We can find no trace or death of AUSTIN after 1919.

HIND - Ashover Hay
I am trying to race a Joseph HIND born 1815, and married an Emily Fowler in 1845. He had 5 children to Emily, Thomas 1845, Mary Jane 1847, Susan 1849, Annie 1851 and finally Joseph Taylor Hind in 1852.
Joseph Snr departed England in 1852, arriving in Victoria at the height of the goldrush also in 1852. Family history says "he must have died," as he never returned. Emily eventually remarried a Samuel Davy.
I can find no trace of Joseph Snr once he arrived in Australia. Can anyone help ?
