William Cockbill - Long Eaton
Looking for any information about William Cockbill and his family, he was born 1868, married to Clara (who was his second wife. He had 12 children that we know of, Joe, Harry, Bill, Ernest, Fred, Wilfred, Beattie, Hilda, Doris, George, Percy. George was in the South Staffs regiment and was killed during the first world war. As far as we know all the family are from the Long Eaton area, although William could have been born around Isley Walton.

Edward (Teddy) Carter - Long Eaton
Hi, I would like to hear from anyone who has any information, especially photo's, phamplets, brewerarnia etc regarding my great-grandfather Teddy Carter. He ran the Blue-Bell Public house in Long Eaton town centre with his wife Elizabeth,(nee Bridges)around (1900) and previously had the Red Lion P/H at Sandiacre (1890's). Any background info on either also greatfully received. They were survived by at least 4 sons Albert, John, Douglas, Mel, and a daughter Lizzie. No-one seems to know of this family, which i find odd when you consider their prominance - Any WW1 leads welcomed. What happened to them?

chrissey/chrisie Martin formally Hannon,married Bob Martin and had a daughter called Chrissie/chrisie Martin .her farthers name was William Hannon From Galway bay but lived in Bradford West yorkshire,Chrissey and Bob lived in long eaton around 1979 and run a shop in that area at the time ,i think it was a grocery.her brother Edward Hannon would love any iformation or where abouts as she was last seen 1980 at his mothers funeral in Bradford any help would be great as ive come to a loose ends

I am looking for more details on my Cresswell ancestors from this area. Paul (1823-1895)moved with his family around Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire doing various jobs but mainly mining. He was an Inn Keeper at the Bulls Head Little Hallam at one time. Richard Cresswell (1807) - Loscoe
Can anyone please give me the names of my g.g. grandfather Richard Cresswell's siblings and parents. He was born abt. 1807 at either Denby or Loscoe. His wife was Georgiana Mee born abt 1807 at Loscoe. She had a sister Elizabeth who lived with them. Elizxabeth was deaf & dumb according to one Census. Longley, Coxon - Ludworth
William Longley was born at Newbiggin, Westmorland about 1802. He was a Tailor at Compstall Bridge in 1835, and at Compstall Rd, Ludworth in the 1841, with his wife Esther (nee Coxon) and children. He finally moved to Hyde where he died in 1880. His daughter Louisa married Peter Sykes of Compstall (later of Hyde).

Trying to track back my family, many of them in Mackworth from around 1770. Particularly interested in Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Warren, born around 1773 and married in Derby in 1807. EW's parents , I think, were Sarah Buxton and John Warren, married in Derby in 1764. Anyone else delving in this area?

In the IGI my grandfather's sister, Annie Clulo was born in Marston on Dove. On the birth cert. it states Nov. 1875 Hatton, in the district of Tutbury.The same details were on my grandfather's birth cert. Does anyone have access to the 1871 censusfor this area? James Clulo, their father was a GLASSMAKER and married Annie Kay(b. Scotland) in Tutbury church in May 1872. Her parents were Joseph and Ann(both b. Scotland)brothers Joseph and William were born in Staffs and sister Lilian in Scotland. I would love to find an address, so that I can see where my grandfather was born!Also I have a gap for Joseph KAY before he is found in the workhouse in Edinburgh in the 1881 census.

Bert Rice married to Gladys Emma born Belper. Became manager of Williams Deacons Bank in 1937 and retired in 1955. He may have had a grocers Shop in Smedley Street. Also his brother Gilford who ran a grocers shop in Matlock for R E Lee. Gilford was noted for being a rather emotive Lay Preacher.
