Bownes / Bowns in Matlock – 1500s-1600s
- Matlock Bank
Hello,
I'm stuck with research into my Bowne family in Matlock Derbyshire and I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help. I've got back as far as Ralph Bowne who married Lucy somewhere around 1670-80. They had four daughters Hannah, Susanna, Ruammah (who married Anthony Flint in Wirksworth in 1700) and Lydia. Can anyone help me out with the parents of Ralph and Lucy – or any other information about the Bownes – I think they may be descended from the Bownes who owned Lime Tree Farm in the early 1600s.
Many thanks
Claire
