Looking for any information on one Robert Daniel Hurd. Married in Lincoln to a Sara Ann Gostelow (not sure if this is surname or not!) but ended up living at Portland Grange Matlock Bank. Some books say this was in Tansley or even Matlock Bath.

We live on Wellington Street, Matlock and in 1898 our house was left by George Ward to his son Samuel Orlando Ward. George Ward also was the landlord of the Duke of Wellington PH. I believe a row of houses called Wayside Cottages on Wellington Street were owned by the Ward family from around 1749 untill the 1950's. My 2 x great grandparents were Thomas and Mary wood(nee Scott) In 1891 they were living in Smedley street Matlock Bank. They had children, John(my great grandfather)Louisa,Alfred and Mary Alice.Thomas was an optician.When he died, Mary became a cab proprietor with her son Alfred.Does anyone know anything about these people? are there any descendents of these children out there? Looking for information on the family of John WAYWELL b. Measham 1791 who married Ann ? b. Leics 1811 or 1821. They settled in Derby and had children Hannah b. 1836, Jane b. 1837, Joseph b. 1847 and Henry b. 1855. After John's death Ann remarried and lived in Belper. Henry married Eliza JOHNSON b. Hatton 1854 and settled in Derby. They had children Annie b. 1880 and Gertrude b. 1883. Eliza died in 1885 and Henry remarried Emily ? b. Hoton, Leics 1860. They had Florence b. 1888, Margaret b. 1892, John b. 1893 and Jossie b. 1901. Gertrude married Edgar Hill b. Belper 1882 in Derby and had at least one child, Arnold, there in 1907. They then moved to Belper and had Wilfred b. 1908. I believe they also had two girls called Elsie and Vera. Edgar was a train cleaner, then a train fireman then a train driver

Measham Woollen Mills - Measham
The Measham Woollen Mills made tape laces stays etc and was owned by the Hunt family when George Hunt snr died in 1860c it was left to his sons George and John their mother Eliza died 1866c and George's wife Annie nee Bradford died 1865 around this time the mills seemed to disappear I don't know about the land In the census 1851 the family with George snr as head lived in High St. After his death the address was entered as Tamworth Rd The Factory House after that everything goes havey cavey and census 1871 there is no George jnr his daughter from marriage to Ann Bradford is living with his sister Isabella in Yorkshire and I cant find his brother John anywhere at this time (still looking) Then in 1881 George pops up again and has been to USA remarried and now living Shewsbury Street 8 Balmoral Terrace with daughter Annie from 1st marriage and 2 daughters from 2nd marriage. He and his new family emigrated to USA 1892 his daughter Annie emigrated to Australia in 1882. I would like to find out what happened between 1871 and 1881 can anyone help me please?

I have found a reference to a Christening of a William Wilson, son of Thomas and Ann, dated 27 June 1824 in Measham, but I do not know with certainty he is my target. By 1851, my William Wilson was living on Duke Street, St. Alkmund. He lived here for many more years.
