Looking for any trace of Emma EVANS born c 1832 and her family. Emma married William SHAW in Doveridge 1860.Their daughter Annie was born in Doveridge c 1860. William gave his fathers name as William WEBBERLEY when he married.The children of this family were all known as WEBBERLEY on the 1881 census. Any ideas?

Any one know the Bowlers. William born in 1850, Doveridge married Henrietta and then moved to be landlord of the Bulls Head Inn Bishop Street, Coventry. As far as I know the Bowlers further back were gentleman farmers and owned coal mines. They were associates of the Lord Waterparks. there is also some connection with the surname of Savage. Anyone know?

James Smith - Doveridge
My 4thggrandfather was James Smith b.1781 in Doveridge. His mother was Mary? He was illegitimate. No bastardy records found in the Vicars Chest. ??? He was listed as a butcher in 1841-51 census. He married a Hannah Woolley in 1805. They had 11 children mostly girls. My William b. 1821. William m. Charlotte Allcock 1843 and went to America. They had 3 children by 1850 in St. Louis Mo. The oldest b. 1845. Only one other male of James lived, a third John, b.1819. I have history on the Woolleys and Allcocks. My quest is the Smith line. Also my William mysteriously dissappeared from Mo. after 1850. Charlotte remaried by 1860. Any help anywhere apprediated. Have been searching since 1994. Art.

Thanks to detective work by a subscriber, I now know that Edward Jowett married Charlotte Bancroft. Details of where and when are still elusive, but I am confident Census Returns have led to this lady being identified. Charlotte was the daughter of William Bancroft and Mary (Coulson) and baptised 12th October 1788 at Wilne. Anyone have a connection?

I have a photo of my gg grandfather William Monk (1841 -1915) with fire service colleagues in uniform about 1909 I was told he was the driver for Dronfield fire service I don't know if volunteer or paid job. In 1909 he was still the driver and was 70 years old. Does anyone have similar photo or info to share.

I am seeking links in Dronfield area for the family of Samuel and Ann Bargh b.1791.They had sons,Robert,Samuel Joseph and William,and their daughter Hannah b1826 who married James Coldwell Turner, a coal merchant in later years. They set up home in Workington and james(jas) worked in the steel works as did his son after him and his grandson(my dad) any info about them prior to 1883 would help.I visited dronfield 10/07/07 but a brief and fruitless visit, nice place thou, after 130 years a fowler was back home
