Fire service about 1900 - Dronfield
I have a photo of my gg grandfather William Monk (1841 -1915) with fire service colleagues in uniform about 1909 I was told he was the driver for Dronfield fire service I don't know if volunteer or paid job. In 1909 he was still the driver and was 70 years old. Does anyone have similar photo or info to share.

I am seeking links in Dronfield area for the family of Samuel and Ann Bargh b.1791.They had sons,Robert,Samuel Joseph and William,and their daughter Hannah b1826 who married James Coldwell Turner, a coal merchant in later years. Their older daughters were born in Dronfield.. Lucy,1846 Mary Bargh,1847, Clementine 1850, and Hannah,1852.Hannah Bargh died young and James remarried , Eliza about 1858. Have you come across a marriage by Thomas Barton after his second wife died in 1805 and his later marriage in 1832. There may be some connection to the Wirksworth area during this period but he may have been in any part of south Derbyshire.

I believe that my gt.gt.grandmother, may have been baptised in Duffield. I know from various census entries that she was born Derby but the only baptism that I can find for her name, around the right time is on 26/03/1826 in Duffield. Her name was, Anne Newbold, her parents were, William Newbold and Elizabeth. There is also a record of a marriage between a William Newbold and an Elizabeth Eley on 07/03/1822 in Duffield.
Does anyone have any of these names in their family tree, or can anyone give me any information on the Newbold or Eley families?

I am looking for any information on John Lomas and his family. John Lomas married a Mary Godwin and had their first son William in Duffield they then moved to Leicester and my ancester Henry Lomas was born, they then moved to Birmingham, Great Barr Street. Henry Lomas married Emma Woodcock and they moved upto Sheffield and my gt.grandmother was born. They returned to Birmingham, where my grandfather Joseph Cormell was born.
