He was a paper manufacturer by trade, and did not begin to write before the age of 52. He wrote - 'Mount Henneth' 1781 - 'Barham Downs' 1784, - 'Hermsprong, or Man is not True' 1796 etc.

Wittnesses: Joseph Walkesden & William Drew.John Borham was a joiner and family say he moved to Derbyshire to do with a tunnel.
John & Sarah's first child Mary Eliza 1864-1945,in Apperly Bridge,Yorkshire died in Barry,Glam. :Joseph 1867-1918 born back in Bakwell.5 other children all born in Portishead,Somerset.

His father was Anthony Allen chris. 08/06/1693, his mother was Mary b. c.1695 at Ipstones. James & Elizabeth married at Snelston, Derbys on 22/05/1757. Am direct descendant and would like to know occupations etc. anything really - have got these Allens back to 1556 on the male line.

There were several Fearn families in the area at the time with similar names and as I have no other details I do not know how to verify which is the correct Mary Ann Fearn. I was told by an elderly relative of some family links with a Lord & Lady Reilly (Riley)who, she claimed, lived in Denby Hall (? House)in Derbyshire probably in the early/mid 1800's. The story she told was of their wayward daughter (no name known) who ran off with the coachman and was subsequently disinherited. The estate apparently then went into Chancery. I have had no success in corroborating any of this. Can anyone help please - Ian

I have been researching my NOBLE line for about 12 years. I am decended from
a small group of Chesterfield, Derby and Nottingham Noble's which I have
traced back to RICHARD NOBLE (b. Chesterfield 1693 son of JACOB). His son
PAUL NOBLE married ELIZABETH JOLLEY in Derby in 1768. Paul's son JOHN and
ANN NOBLE (nee Short) who were married in DERBY in 1821. JOHN NOBLE was a
Shoemaker born in Derby in 1775, JOHN and ANN had a son THOMAS NOBLE born
in Derby in 1821. THOMAS was a silk twister and married LOUISA HALLOTT in
Derby in 1841. They had 4 children that I know of, the eldest son was my 2
x greatgrandfather JOHN NOBLE, a boilermaker, born in Derby in 1848. JOHN
married SELINA LLOYD in Derby in 1868 and then shortly afterewards the
whole family (including THOMAS and LOUISA) moved to NOTTINGHAM. The line
continued with THOMAS NOBLE, cotton presser, born in Nottingaham in 1876.
THOMAS married MARY ANN KEETLEY in Nottingham in 1898 and the family lived
in great poverty. My grandfather GEORGE NOBLE was born in Nottingham
Bagthorpe Workhouse in 1904.
I have a lot of data concerning the name NOBLE in both Derby and
Nottingham. I would be happy to share my data with other researchers and am
also interested to know if anyone is able to sh...
