I am looking for information on the Kieldsens living in Chapel En Le Frith from the 1890s onwards. Eric Vivian Gillman Kieldsen (born 1897) was my great grandfather. After Edwards death Eliza married George Baden HODGSON(b. 11 Oct1900, Gtr Manchester, d.31 Dec 1982). Edward PRATT's parents were Louisa BOOTH and Henry PRATT. Eliza BIRKS parents were Stephen BIRKS and Eliza DOLPHIN. I have been researching my NOBLE line for about 12 years. I am decended from a small group of Chesterfield, Derby and Nottingham Noble's which I have traced back to RICHARD NOBLE (b. Chesterfield 1693 son of JACOB). His son PAUL NOBLE married ELIZABETH JOLLEY in Derby in 1768. Paul's son JOHN and ANN NOBLE (nee Short) who were married in DERBY in 1821. JOHN NOBLE was a Shoemaker born in Derby in 1775, JOHN and ANN had a son THOMAS NOBLE born in Derby in 1821. THOMAS was a silk twister and married LOUISA HALLOTT in Derby in 1841. They had 4 children that I know of, the eldest son was my 2 x greatgrandfather JOHN NOBLE, a boilermaker, born in Derby in 1848. JOHN married SELINA LLOYD in Derby in 1868 and then shortly afterewards the whole family (including THOMAS and LOUISA) moved to NOTTINGHAM. The line continued with THOMAS NOBLE, cotton presser, born in Nottingaham in 1876. THOMAS married MARY ANN KEETLEY in Nottingham in 1898 and the family lived in great poverty. My grandfather GEORGE NOBLE was born in Nottingham Bagthorpe Workhouse in 1904. I have a lot of data concerning the name NOBLE in both Derby and Nottingham. One of my GG.Grandfather's was Edward Eastwood of Eastwood wagon factory and another of my GG.Grandfathers was William Oliver who started company that eventually became Markham's. Looking for info on a Alfred Wright, who was born in a Children's Home/Workhouse, which was built on the old Scarsdale Hospital site, possibly sometime between 1880 & 1900's. Had a child named William Leusby (b.1917) with May Leusby, then they went on to have another child named Derek Wright and a couple of other children. Can someone please also give us the name of children's home/workshouse!

My sister and I were sent from London in the early 1940s to a childrens home in the Chesterfield area,I am really trying to find out about my past as it was very varied and I need to put a time scale to events.I would really appreciate any help thatcould be given as at every turn I seem to end in a blank. Joseph Wood born in Hull, on his marriage to Madeleine Smart (B. Middle Rasen Lincs) 1876, the marriage cert. showed his father William Wood Chesterfield. William's occupation was a Fish and grocery merchant. He resided in 20 Charles Street Hull formany years with his family he was on the 1861 '71 '81 census. His wife was called Martha Shearer born in Cottingham (Hull) who I have never found on any census (except for after her marriage to William) or marriage cert. I have not proved a birth ofWilliam Wood although I think it could be right because of the names of his children. I would be grateful for any information on thse people. I think there are still Woods in Hull in the Green grocery /Market Garden trade. I would like to hear fromthem.

Rollinson / Chesterfield - Chesterfield
Joe Charlesworth Rollinson was baptised as Joseph Rollinson in Sheffield Cathedral on 31 July 1835, the son of Joseph Rollinson & Ellen Oldham nee Woodruff. On 4 September 1856 he married Betsy Clough at Leeds Parish Church. Joe Charlesworth Rollinson was declared bankrupt on 6 February 1864 at the Court of Bankruptcy for the Leeds District. He was then described as a licensed victualler of Chesterfield. After that date I have no knowledge of what became of him. I should be very grateful for any information about his time in Chesterfield and any indications about what became of him after 1864. (He probaably died in the decade between the censuses of 1871 & 1881: his abandoned(?) wife, Betsy, still described herself as married in 1871, but as a widow in 1881.)

Searching for information on the family of my late uncle Harry HARDY, born 1906 at Bolton, Lancashire. Harry married Queenie HOUGH in Liverpool in 1934.
