My grandmother was Fanny Jackson Key who was born in 1892 the daughter of William and Mary Key. Her grandparents were James and Fanny Key Jackson of Arlecdon Parks Farm. I am keen to hear from anyone else researching this family. In 1891 William and his family were living at Routonsyke and he is described as a farmer. By 1901 he is living in Waterloo Terrace and is described as a Quarryman. I am keen to understand what led to a changer in his fortunes in the intervening 10 years.

Richard married Jane Ann Brown, and had children, Richard Brown bc 1877, May bc. 1879 who married Ivor Frederick Pattinson Stubbs in 1909 and moved to Erith in Kent, and Margaret bc. 1881 and who married George Creighton Mackay in 1907. Jane died and he married Annie Mary Lee, and had further children Robert bc. 1885, Gladys bc. 1889 and Ivor bc. 1891.

Trying to find descendants of Whitfield family who originated in Haltwistle, Northumberland but mostly in Workington, Cumberland. John Whitfield (born Haltwistle, Northumberland)and Mary Whitfield (nee Beeby born Cumwhitton, Cumberland)had 11 children, the last six born in Workington, one of whom was my Great Grandfather Joseph born 1848, believe he left England sometime in the early 1880's to join his brother William who was in Australia. One Census address was Seaton Iron Works where the father John was a Lead Miner.

William and Jane (MARTIN) BETHWAITE married 6 March 1819 at All Saints, Cockermouth, Cumberland, they had 9 children together, my 2nd Gt. Grandmother Ann BETHWAITE b. 1826 @ Flimby, was twin sister to Jane BETHWAITE, their siblings are Joseph BETHWAITE, b. 1819, Sarah BETHWAITE, b. 1824, Margaret BETHWAITE, b. 1828, William BETHWAITE, b. 1830, Robert BETHWAITE, b.1832, Zillah BETHWAITE, b. 1835, John BETHWAITE, b. 1837. Ann BETHWAITE married Charles GRAHAM b. 1825c Scotland 1850c, their 1st child being born Aug 1851 and Baptised Dec 1851 at Flimby. We have been unable to locate their marriage also Ann's death after July 1861 which is the date of birth of the last child George GRAHAM he was born at Cramlington, Northumberland, we next find the family on the 1871 Census living in Hetton, County Durham, by this time Charles GRAHAM has a new wife, so we have to presume that Ann is now deceased, again we cannot locate the 2nd marriage which may have taken place in Northumberland or County Durham. I would like to hear from anyone who may have a link to any the above details.

Robert Biggins married in Victoria, Australia in 1867. He was said to have been born in Cumberland between 1837 and 1841. He died in 1884 at Alexandra, Victoria leaving a wife (previously a convict) a well read and literate woman named Caroline nee TOE from Berkshire. They had about 8 children who she raised alone. They have descendants in Western and Eastern AUstralia, and the Los Angeles USA.

Researching the following families Thomas Graham c1760 married to Eleanor Armstrong c1762 both of Crossbanks Lowfield and Kirkland. I have managed to find six children. Their Son David Graham 1792 Torpenhow married to Margaret Allan 1798 Carlise. David and Margaret married 09/05/1818 Wigton. Also six children. David and Margaret's son Robert Graham 1826 Torpenhow married to Margaret Armstrong 1823 Cockermouth. Robert and Margaret married 25/12/1852 Cockermouth. Robert and Margaret had four children Mary Graham 1855 married in Cockermouth 1873 to Henry Wood 1852 (one child). Thomas Graham 1857 married in Cockermouth 1885 to Mary Ridge 1856(two children) Margaret Jane Graham 1858-1929 married 21/03/1896 to Frederick William John Fairbrother 1859-1919. Margaret had two illegitimate daughters before she married Frederick who was a widower. There were two children from this marriage Emma Victoria Fairbrother 1897(my Grandmother) and Robert Horatio Fairbrother 1900. David Graham 1861 married Cockermouth 1886 to Frances Ann Kendall 1864-1895. (two children). Regards Maria

My grandad - Samuel Morton was born in Whitehaven in 1907, he had a brother called William Smith Morton and a sister called Mabel Morton. His mother and father were called Samuel Morton and Mary Ellen Morton (nee McLaughlin). Samuel Morton Snr worked in a Gold Mine in South Africa (I think) and died there. Mary Ellen Morton went on to re-marry a man by the surname Gregg/Greig

Seeking ascendants or descendants of the Reay and Gregg families to share family history information. The information I have to date is that David Reay married Elizabeth (Lilly) Gregg in 1800. They had one known daughter Elizabeth Reay (alias Ray,Wray,Wreay) who was transported to Australia arriving in 1824 per the ship 'Brothers'. Elizabeth went on to marry William Smith Grose in Parramatta, NSW, Australia in 1826. Elizabeth Gregg's parents were John Gregg and Elizabeth Hodgson who were married in 1780. John Gregg's parents were Shadrach Gregg and Jane Hamilton who were married in 1766. Shadrach was a Basket Maker.

Her name was Florence Dennison, and she was visiting family in the Penrith area and Worcester area with her husband, Ernest Dennison m.1945. I am after friends, sisters, family, ANYONE that may have any information on Florence Dennison, formerly CONNIFF and born Florence CLIFF around 1884.She was taken to the WESTMORLAND COUNTY HOSPITAL, but died a few weeks later. Apparently after her death, she was sent back to Missouri where she was living, apparently in the St. Louis area, but have no information on this. My great-grandparents, Ada Louise Laycock and Thomas Steel, were said to have both been born in Westmoreland. Ada Laycock was born Nov 7, 1875, to Ann Robinson and William Laycock. Thomas Steel was born April 13, 1864, (parents not yet identified).Thomas immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 (cir. 1883) and Ada immigrated to Canada about 1890. They met in Canada and married in 1893. Any assistance in locating information regarding my family is very much appreciated. Thanks! Catherine
