The citizenship papers show Archibald & Norah were born in Domarragh, Ireland. As far as I knowthere isn't any such place. It may have been mis-interpreted due to the Irish way of speaking. It may have been Dromore or some other town sounding like that. That is all the information I have on my family & I would gratfully appreciate finding mybeginnings. Thank You Again. Nora

Walker
- Whitehaven
A baby was abandoned in Strand Street, Whitehaven in November 1896. A note was pinned to her dress "I am not able to keep the child and work myself. Please will you trane (sic) it up in the fear of god and the Lord will bless you do not put it in the workhouse it was born march 6 name lilian Walker"
There was no indication as to whether the name was the clild's or the mother's. If the child's, possibly the surname was that of the father.
There was no legal adoption system then and the baby was adopted into my family
Any information welcome
