Hayton/ Smith - Silloth
I am researching my family history of my father. He was Pattinson Hayton (1916 -2000 b. Carlisle), his father was Amos Hayton (1874 ? 1955 b. Wigton), mother Annie Smith (1888 ? 1975 b. Silloth). His Grand father was Pattinson Hayton (1821 ? 1882 b. Bowness), Grand mother Jane Hayton (1832 -1905 b. Little Bampton). Jane Hayton had been married previously to an Irving; I cannot find her maiden name or any reference to the first marriage. I think I also have his great grand parents, Amos and Barbra Beaty married 1808 in Wigton. I was always lead to believe that Pattinson originated from a grandmotherŐs maiden name, this I now feel is incorrect as I have come across quite a few Pattinson Haytons . It would be great to find out the link.

Bateman - St Bees
Angus Bateman (b. about 1785) married Ann Robinson (b. about 1788) in St Bees, Cumberland, on 15 Feb 1808.
