John Colling - Penrith
I am trying to find my Grt g g g Grandad. His name was John Colling born in Penrith Abt 1804 (although he does seem to have a flexable date of birth).
He Married/lived with A lady called Dinah Hunter Born Hull Abt 1805. Their 1st child was called Mary Jane she was born in Sunderland in 1840, baptised in Stockton. Their 2nd child John was born in Middlesbrough in 1842. Their 3rd child Thomas was born in Hartlepool. Both John and Dinah died in Hartlepool. John in 1879 and Dinah in 1874.
I am unable to find any trace after the 1841 census, no details of birth or marriage on IGI. Any help gratefully received.

My Thomas Hodgson was born in 1791...but Parish records in Cockermouth show one born 21 Mar 1791 to Thos& Ann, another born 16 April 1791 to John & Mary. No census to check, no occupations, no clues.....this Thomas became a husbandman in Ponsonby, married Hannah, father of Thomas, Mary Ann, Hannah.

I have traced our Haile family back to Joseph who died in 1705. His son William had 10 children. His son
Joseph had 5 children. His son Thomas married Tamar Walton and they had 11 children. His son Thomas
married Sarah Curwen and had 8 children.His son William moved to Bigrigg, Egremont to work in the iron ore
mines and married Jane Norman. They had 7 children. There must be lots of Haile descendants out there.

1881 Census for Alston shows Hannah (nee Robinson) living with her husband William Featherstone. Next door is William's father, Thomas with his wife Mary, children Jane and Annie and adopted daughter Elizabeth Robinson. I think Hannah and Elizabeth are sisters. What is Elizabeth's story? Why was she adopted by her sisters in-laws? Did she marry? Any information to solve the mystery of Elizabeth more than gratefully received.
