I am descended from the HINGSTON family who moved to Falmouth from Mevagissey around 1815. Richard Towsey Hingston was my 2 x Gt-G'Father who married Sarah Trail LUCE born Mylor 1810 in Falmouth in 1838. Richard's father was Samuel Hingston and his mother was Ann nee Towsey both born Mevagissey. Have extensive Hingston family history chart.

i would be grateful for information regarding my grandmother annie mary dunn who was married to john charles mallett they had a son my father called douglas charles mallett. her parents were called sarah jane who was married to william hocking dunn their other children were lillian jane dunn who died when she was 19years of age she was born in falmouth son william dunn born in falmouth she had a sister called flora who married a herne and moved to portsmouth. i do know that my grandparents lived in market strand falmouth and william hocking dunn died when he was living in webber street. falmouth at the age of 70 anyone who has any information i would be very grateful.

Married Elizabeth Ann HILL at Falmouth Parish Church 6th February 1860 (Catholic Rites).Lived Falmouth in 1901, Died in Portsmouth around 1920. Thomas CHANT 1798-1878 - Falmouth
Thomas CHANT married Eleanor GENDAL 1795 St Gluvias. They had two known children, Eleanor 1795 who married about 1816 in Falmouth and Thomas 1798 Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Somerset. Thomas jnr. married Elizabeth WARD in 1824 in Falmouth and they had nine known children and among their marriages are connections to ARMSTRONG, TIDDY and TYLER families. Thomas jnr. died 1878 in Falmouth. I should like information please on the family connection with the Somerset village where my CHANT family is rooted. Thomas senior may be a missing link. They had one daughter in Dorking _ Jane Eliza Pelham. After Thomas died, Christianna married William Mance. I am looking for anyone in Dorking, Wandsworth, Surrey, or Cornwall and Devon researching any of these surnames. Family also listed as Dansham or Danesham in census for Falmouth

Falmouth Bible Christians/ Quakers - Falmouth
Christianna Coustis was born in Cornwall in 1829. According to some census info she was born in 'Key', which I believe may be Kea, since she married in Truro in 1852, but she is also registered as born and baptised under the Falmouth Circuit of Bible Christians. Family lore says that she and her husband, John Densham, are believed to have been Quakers who left the Friends because they found the lifestyle too strict, but this may have been the Bible Christians. Any information, or suggestions of how to find out more would be much appreciated.

James jnr married for second time Elsie Mary BLITCHFORD (b1889 Truro,Cornwall) married Falmouth 1929.He married Sarah Preece in Churchstow church,Devon 1915. There is no record of Sarah either dying or on any census.

I am trying to trace my grandfather, Wilfred (Noel?) Christophers, I believe he lived or worked in Penryn or falmouth or there abouts. He married Bessie Carter from Helston, and they had one child my father. They separated when I was about 3, 1950 and I have no. memories of him at all.

Researching Thomas H Trewin (DOB 1870) The 1901 Census shows him as a cab driver in Falmouth. Married Mary Adams, a farmers daughter in 1896. They had several children including Gwendoline and Lucy. Any additional info. would be most welcome.

According to the 1891 Cencus my 2x grandmother Kosinia was born in Falmouth abt 1859 and she married Daniel Higgins in Manchester born in 1858 in Montram Manchester. They had 6 children. I dont know her maiden name. Not much to go on I know.

Cox family, Falmouth - Falmouth
My Gt.gt.grandfather James Blatch Cox brought his young family to Falmouth in 1843 from Somerset, he was an ironmonger and had been a baptist minister, how did he aspire to Mayor after only 4 years there? I believe he was connected to the building of the waterworks. His sons and grandsons went on to be pillars of society, the postmaster and managers of the shipyard and another mayor, yet none remain there now, I have researched them to some extent, but the question remains, what brought James there in the first place? My grandfather left there in 1918, only returning in later life for holidays and did not keep in touch with 'family', so it remains for me to piece together the family from those times. Any help would be appreciated

I am looking for any info regarding the Royal Cornwall Home for Girls in Falmouth,particularly the time between 1885 and 1895 as my grandmother was an inmate there at the time. Her name was Clarice Smith and her father was William Smith a merchant seaman and mother Elizabeth Edwards. She was charged as a 7yr old with being a "neglected child". Williams Family Parish Of Feock - Feock
Descendants of William & Tabitha Brown Williams: 1841 census for Feock Parish in Narabo, and then later found in Carnon Down, Devoran and Gwennap (where William & Tabitha were married in 1793.) Known children: William Henry, Jane/Jenefer, John, Edward William, Thomas, Mary Ann, Martha, William, Joseph, Henry, Jeremiah*, James, Richard, Robert, Nancy. I descend from Jeremiah and have lots of information/research to share on these lines. Many of this family are buried in the churchyard of St. Feock.

My gt gt g'father was Richard Wellington who was the landlord of the Punchbowl & Ladle, Feock, from at least 1861 - 1891. By 1901 my gt grandma was the licencee. She was Eliza nee Pearce, 2nd wife of one of Richard's sons (John Henry). I have found some decendants so far (next generation mostly). These sir names include Menear & Evenson.

I am looking for information about Priscilla DEEBLE, born in Feock, Cornwall c.1816 and living there with husband William in 1861. By 1881 she is living in St George, Bristol, as Head of a household comprising one lodger. She later dies in Bristol in 1895. Prisilla may have moved to Bristol with her son Daniel who died there in 1877. Does anyone have a connection with this family ?

Her father was John Roberts born 1840 in Feock and Elizabeth Curnow born 1840 in Ruan Lanihorn. Edith also had siblings: Charlesborn 1863 in Feock, William John born 1866 at St Day, Thomas born 1870 at Hayle, Catherine born 1872 at Penzance, Francis born 1874 at Penzance, Mary born 1876 at Penzance, Lydia born 1878 at Penzance and Philip born 1879 at Penzance. At the time of the 1881 Census they were living at 1 Stanford Ter Alverton. William John came to Australia in 1884 and Edith marries James Dixon and came to Australia prior to WW1

Penrose/Stephens - Feock
Researching Penrose family in and around Feock and Truro. I have William Penrose married to Julianna. They went into business with Sir John Lemon and R&W Mitchell 1830. This was a lease for the Lead Smelting House in Feock. When William died suddenly (Smelting house accident) in 1838, the lease was changed to add William Stephens. I am trying to find out if Stephens was related to Julianna or just a business partner.
