December 1834, Crowan; and Mary born abt. 1836, St. Austeill, Cornwall. 1851 and 1861 census, John Rowe, miner of ore, Garth Hamlet, Pentytrch, Glamorgan, Wales. The family immigrated to Pennsylvania, USA between 1860 and 1870.

Harvey and Wasley families - Cusveorth Coombe
I descend from John Harvey (born c 1823) and Hannah P Wasley (born c1823) according to the 1842 census, they both lived in Cusveorth Coombe with their respective familes prior to getting married in 1846 and having a son (John Polsue Harvey) in 1847. Some time after this birth they moved to Australia - possibly first to South Australia - then definitely to Western Australia in 1859. Hannah was the daugher of Joseph Wasley and Susanna Polsue, and John is possibly the son of Jane Martin and Paul Harvey. This last detail is uncertain. HOCKADAY - Delabole
My Great Grandfather, Job Hockaday (1829-1931) was Secretary to the Delabole Slate Company, and traces of his first house were still visible near the top of the quarry a few years ago. The youngest of his 11 children was Percy, who married Margaret Ellen WILLIAMS before he went to sea, dying in Vancouver in 1953. He left a daughter, Gwladys, who I believe was a music teacher. She married Giulio QUADRANI, who had been an Italian POW in the area in WW2. When where were Gwladys and Giulio born, married, died an buried?

FLOYD family 1840 - Downgate
My long overnight car trip from England to Cornwall was nearly over and for the next seven days i would be doing research on my family history. A road sign caught my eye indicating Downgate so I turned off the main road knowing that my ancestors lived here in 1841. People stared at me as I roamed the churchyard at 6am. My surname is FLOYD and I would anybody who has any old info on the village to contact me.

Am looking for details of Harriet Pollard b.1840 Duloe/Tredinnick, Cornwall. She married Thomas Earwaker b.1840 on 7/6/1870 Swanmore, Hampshire and they had children Herbert, Mabel Olive, Bertha, Thomas & Edith Jane. Thomas Earwaker was a blacksmith as was his father Thomas b.1809 and his grandfather also Thomas. From the time of her marriage to Thomas in 1870 Harriett appears to have lived at Hill Pound, Swanmore until her death in 1908.

My great, great grandfather Thomas Smythe Hooper arrived in Melbourne Australia in 1848 leaving from Truro Cornwall. I do not know when he was born, the family he left behind or the reason why he came to Australia. I do know he won 2nd Prize at the Duloe Green School Xmas 1844. The Smythe always seemed to be used and was passed on to one of his children. I would like to know about the family he left behind.

I have information on many of the the Ancestors and Descendants of this couple.

Looking for any information re parents, siblings and or descendants in england of Thomas Hodge Olver born December 1798 at St Martin By Looe, Cornwall. He married Mary Ann Strike. Pareents believed to be John Olver born circa 1760 and his wife Rebecca (surname unknown) they both died at Bere Alston, Devon at the age of eighty. John Oliver (b1766?) - East Looe
The above John OLIVER was a blacksmith on the Quay. In 1841 he gives his age as 75 (could be up to 79) and is living with his daughter Elizabeth . He is the widower of Christiana (nee LYNE) who I think died in 1836 . He died in 1844. John and Christiana had children including :Thomas(1797),Richard(1800),John(1804),Mary Anne(1809)and Elizabeth(1813). I'm not sure of John's parents nor Christiana's and would love to take the tree back further. NB Christenings at St Martin-by-Looe

My grandmother Sarah Sanders nee Sole, born 1825 is in the 1861 census(for Westminster)as having been born in Edmonton. She was born Sarah Sole 16 Oct1825 died 1895 and raised 13 children with Edmund Sanders although I cannot trace her marriage. Their first child was born 1848. Any info. appreciated. After Edmund's death she remarried to Marston.

Roger GREEN christened Egloshayle abt 1729 married Sarah. Daughter Bridget christened at Egloshayle 16 February 1755. Bridget married John LOBB at St Mabyn, Cornwall 29 August 1780.

Thomas Lobb married Margaret Bewes August 1806 in Egloshayle,their son Henry Lobb born about 1810,married Lydia Willcock in May 1831.Their daughter Mary Ann Lobb,born about 1850 in Egloshayle, Cornwall married James Thatcher in Nailsea,Somerset,July1878. Their son William James born 1879,Nailsea, Somerset. James and Mary moved to Bristol, where he became a publican.

I would like to find the parents and place of birth of William Mudge. He married Elizabeth Hawken at Egloshale in 1814. He was a tanner and moved at one time to Lostwithiel where several of his children were baptised. He and Elizabeth then returned to Wadebridge where they were Storekeepers. Elderly family members are keen to discover what became of Charlie, b August 1895 son of Jeremiah BEARE & Fanny NEIL/NEAL. He served in WW1, returned to Cornwall for a short time, then took off for parts unknown. It was thought and is rumoured he may have gone to either New Zealand or Australia. Searle Families - Egloskerry
Searles lived in Egloskerry from the earliest 1700s through the 1891 census. Zechariah Searle was the patriarch and his name was used multiple times there through several generations. Dozens of Searles were christened and married in the parish. Several of them were buried in the village churchyard. My direct Searle ancestor moved to Stoke Damerel, Devon County and his son came to the United States in 1808. I am willing to share information on this family and the parish in general. Also am interested in other Searle families from the other parishes in the Launceston Registration District.

GEORGE HOLMAN - Egloskerry
George Holman was my great-great grandfather, born in Egloskerry in 1815 and died sometime between 1881 and 1891. He married Betsy Smith who was born 1820 in Laneast. They married in Altarnun. I'm trying to find out who George Holman's parents were and other members of his family. There are other Holman's listed in Egloskerry, presumably related. I am trying to find info on a George Duncan b.1854 in Southleigh Devon and a Hannah Brookes b.1846 Huish Somerset. They married in 1877 in Newton Abbott, Devon. In 1881 they were living at Empacombe, Maker, Cornwall with 1 daughter Jessie b. 1878 who was 3 yrs old. George was a gardener at Mount Edgecombe. By the time of the next census Hannah had disappeared and George had remarried to a Mary Foster. He had another daughter Edith F b.1882w who as born in Maker. I do not know if she was Hannahs who then died or was Marys' child. Any help would be great. Jan
