Here goes: The first SPRY that turned up in my line was Susanna SPRY, b. abt. 1748. Her parents were Richard SPRY, Jr., b. abt. 1720 in Whitstone, Cornwall to Richard SPRY(E) and Luce SNOWE, and who married Elizabeth BOASE, also in Whitstone, Cornwall on July 1, 1746. Elizabeth BOASE was b. abt. 1722 in Penzance (possibly Madron) in Cornwall, England, to Robert BOASE and Margaret JOHN. Robert SPRY, Jr. and Elizabeth BOASE had four other children besides Susanna SPRY, who m. Richard YEO on May 23, 1774 in Whitstone, Cornwall England. They are as follows – Elizabeth SPRY, b. abt.1745; Mary SPRY, b. abt. 1746; English SPRY, b. abt. 1750, and finally Richard SPRY, b. abt. 1752 in Boyton, Cornwall, England. Richard SPRY, Jr. wife, Elizabeth BOASE, was b. abt. 1722 to Robert BOAS(E) and Margaret JOHN in Penzance (possibly Madron) in Cornwall, England, who were married Aug. 12, 1716 in Madron. Hello Cornish Cousins! I am researching my family, which centered around St. Teath after 1830. I was wondering if anyone out there is researching the Giles family (and related families) in St Teath and surrounding parishes up until the 1900s. I am also trying to track down any other Withiel-born Giles members that married, lived or had children in other parishes. My direct relatives, the family of my ggg-grandfather, William Giles, emigrated to Wayne County, Pennsylvania in 1857 from Treburgett hamlet in the parish of St. Teath. William Giles and his brother, John Giles, Jr., relocated from their birthplace in Withiel to St. Teath sometime in the 1830s, married ÒlocalÓ girls, bought or leased new farms, and started families. William married Catherine Mills from St. Tudy parish in 1835. John, Jr. married Mary Anne (unknown surname) from neighboring Michaelstow parish, although weÕre not sure of the marriage date yet.
