Hi Does anyone have any information about John Trewin born approx 1850 in Truro who Married Eliza Reed born Ludgvan in 1849. They were on the 1871 census as visiting Wm Barnicoat and his wife Elizabeth and their son Thos. They were married in 1871 I believe and eventually moved to Newcastle upon Tyne, Hartlepool before settling in Middlesbrough. Thank you Janice

Henderson - Truro
James Henderson, a civil engineer and wife Anna Maria settled in Kenwyn, Truro after travelling the world. James originally came from Aberdeen and Anna Maria from Dublin but by 1861 the family were settled at Kenwyn. His son, Hamilton Gerald was also a civil engineer who travelled and then settled in Kenwyn. I presume both father and son were working for the local mining industry and by the 1901 census they are both noted as 'employer'. Are there any descendants out there who may have further information about the family? Thanks Chris

Penna family - Truro
Does anyone remember Phillip Penna b. 1901 and died 1978 (reg in Truro). He married my mums cousin in Norfolk in 1938 and they moved to Truro district to live. Contact with my mum was lost after this apart from a couple of letters. They had two sons one born 1940, he became a doctor and praticed in Manchester and died in 1988. Not sure if I can mention his name even though he has died. The other was born 1942. After my mum died we were clearing her house and came across a Prayer book belonging to Phillips wife father, (Ernest George Wright) obviously given to him in WW1. We would love for the Penna family to have it. If anyone can point me in the right direction as to how to find them I would be grateful.

I am trying to contact anybody who may have known a Mabel Blanch Stephens or a Harry Stephens who in the year 1925 lived at 5 Hendra Place, Pydar Street Truro. They gave birth to a Sylvia Roslyn Stephens in 1925.

George Tregowan Waters - Truro
George Tregowan Waters believed to be from Truro and born about 1870. Joined British Army about 1886. Fought in Boer War, was in Mesopotamia in 1917. He moved to Elmers End, Beckenham Kent in the 1920s. His wife's name was Harriet (nee Studley). He worked as a printer and died about 1957. Would appreciate any information about his siblings, ancesters etc.

Have just found out where Dorothy died. Mount Pleasant Residential home, Rosemundy Lane St Agnes. Her husband was a master baker but was retired and died before Dorothy. She died in 1997. Dorothy had two sisters,Ethel,Hilda and a brother George and they were all born in London.Her mother was Charlotte Lilian Moore (Decaux) and her father was George William Moore. Did anyone know of them?

Edward Vivian youngest son of Charles Vivian and Mary Tippet (my 4x great grandparents) was living here in 1841. He worked for the Bickford Smith & Co`s Safety Fuse Works. He was boarding with his first cousin William Vivian (Iron Founder) and his family at Tuckingmill. Edward was born at Neath Abbey (Glam.) in 1801 and died at 38, Pendarves St. Tuckingmill in 1886. He was a Sunday School Teacher there for nearly 60 years.

My 4x grt. grandfather Charles Vivian may have retired to Tolgarrack, Tuckingmill, Camborne abt. 1820 with his family after being employed in Neath, Glam. by The Neath Abbey Iron Comp. 1793 - early 1800s and later probably at Tredegar in the Parish of Bedwellty. Still trying to find the exact whereabouts of the latter, he was probably employed by The Tredegar Iron Company. His dau. Elizabeth married Johnathon Miles in 1818 at St Sannan`s Parish Church, Bedwellty. Jonathon was a Patternmaker at The Tredegar Iron Company. His son Charles Vivian was employed there in 1830 as Agent. His son John Vivian died at Tredegar in 1838 of an accident. His dau. Mary died at Tolgarrack in 1850 after moving there from Tredegar. She was living with her sister Elizabeth and her family in 1841 at Tredegar. His son William Vivian died in 1872 at Tollgarack. Edward Vivian died at Tuckingmill in 1886 his youngest son. Both William and Edward were born blind.

Wm Tonkin m Elizabeth RUNDLE in 1840 on arrival in Sth Australia. His parents William & Elizabeth WELLINGTON emigrated to SA in 1847 along with there family Jane & John ROWE, Mary & William THOMAS, John, Joel, Absalom, Harriet, Elizabeth, Jabez, Samuel & Charles. John ROWE's sister Ann Croggan ROWE and her husband William WALKOM also came to SA. As far as I can determine Elizabeth RUNDLE was the eldest daughter of John RUNDLE. Her mother was possibly also Elizabeth. John ROWE was a blacksmith in the 1840 Census. Father William, mother Elizabeth VIVIAN (widowed 1828). She remarried to a John DAVEY (1840 census) in 1835.
