My great grandfather was William Saunders b.1831, a seaman and mate of "the Fortunate". He was married to Ellen Moore, who gave birth to my grandmother, Mary Georgina Saunders in August of 1881 in Cardiff, Wales. They had many children: William Jr., Eleanora, Ellen(Florence)Leanie,Ethel,Mary Georgina and possibly more. At some point in the early 1900's they moved to Plymouth. William had a small fleet of ships and carried on trade throughout the UK. Not sure of any background on Ellen Moore. Relatives told me that she was somehow related to the William Booth family that founded the Salvation Army.
