EBBOTT & BAKER families & the Wescott farm - Tresmeer
In the Tremaine Church yard there is a The tombstone that reads :- “Sacred / To the Memory of / John Ebbott of Westcott in this Parish / who finished his course May 29 1825 aged 73 years ./ ALSO in memory of WILMET his wife / Who departed this life on the 2? day of January 1845 / Aged 91 years” John Ebbott and Wilmot Baker are my 5x great grandparents. Research on the IGI reveals that John Ebbot married Wilmot Baker on 26 Jun 1775 in the same church in which they were eventually burried. According to the book "Our Cornish Heritage Genealogies of Reed, Rowe, Ebbott and related families Immigrants to Jefferson County, Wisconsin" by S.D.Reed. when Wilmet’s father, John Baker, died she inherited the family farm “Westcott”. The notion that the John Ebbott owned or at least lived on “Westcott” is reinforced by its mention on the his gravestone. The inheritance is further confirmed by the transcription of John Baker’s will. I am interested in making contact with any other Ebbott/Baker researchers. I am also interested in learning about the “Westcott” farm and the other Baker holdings in the area, as there appear to have been several according to John Baker’s will. Sandra

I have located a Robert Julian with wife Mary in Perranzabuloe 1841 census with a son Robert born 1829. This child was 7 years old when Robert and Mary were married in 1836. Mary apparently had another marriage as there are three young men living in the house with the last name of Trenerry and Mary's name on the marriage cert. is Trenerry. I am wondering if this could be my great grandfather living with father and step mother? I have been unable to locate any Mary or Marie Brewster. Young Robert came to USA in 1849 or 1850.
