Bessie Wire - Charlie James Martin
- St. Mawes
Charlie Martin was my maternal grandfather, and lived with his second wife Bessie (nee Wire) in St. Mawes. As my mother did not get on with her father or step-mother, I never got the chance to get to know him or anything about his family history. I know that his father was one James Martin who married Margaret, one of three daughter s of Robert French, Archdeacon of Mauritius, but that is about it. I think it unlikely that Bessie would still be alive, but she might be. However, I would be interested to correspond with any of her family members who might be able to shed any light on my grandfather's life or character, or even have some letters, photos, etc. etc.
