I'm searching for information about John and Jenefer NORTHEY who christened a daughter Thomasin on 3 Sep 1815 in St Austell. Thomasin NORTHEY married William NORTHCOTT on 1 April 1840 in the St Austell Registry Office and they sailed away to Canada.

John Bale - St Austell
John Bale was born in 1836. He married Julia anna Goldsworthy in dec 1865 Falmouth and they had 2 children, John Henry Bale and Anna Mary Bale. Their marriage certificate states that Johns father was Henry Bale (Gentleman). (John and Julia were both Journeymen Tailors) Family lore states that he asked Julia to go with him to sea(1870ish) but she would not take the children. He Left to become a china clay merchant with some red head(no name). I am trying to connect his father Henry with a Henry Adolphus Bale(Gentleman b. 1819 in london) who was married to Elizabeth margaret Thriscutt in 1846. Perhaps John was an illigitimate child of Henry Adolphus prior to his marriage to Elizabeth. I cannot find John Bale in any census in the entire U.K. But have found Julia, the children and this Henry Adolphus and family many times. I am a descendant of John Henry Bale and have information on Him and his family down to my youngest son. Any information regarding the possible connection would be appreciated. or any information on the elusive John Bale would be VERY welcomed. Thank you :)

HAM/GROSSE - St Austell
My ancestor James Ham married Catherine Grosse. They both came from St. Austell but had gone to live in London by the late 1700s. James Ham was a publican in London. Does anyone have any information about this couple? I am particularly interested to know where the name Grosse originated and would be most grateful for any information.

I have a lot of information but looking for more. My great grandfather was William Irving Thomas who was born on 1 January 1861 in Tregonissey, St. Austell, Cornwall, England. He immigrated to the United States in 1879, sponsored by his uncle Joseph Thomas, and became a gold miner in Nevada City, California. His parents were Richard Thomas (birth: 27 February 1820 - Tregonissey, St. Austell) and Elizabeth Minear (Birth: 10 February 1822, Borlone, St Austell - parents Joseph Minear and Mary Ann Wheray?). Richard's parents were John Thomas (Birth: 7 October 1781, Borlorne -parnets John Thomas and Mary Penhall) and Rebecca Barkel (birth: 1795 - parents unknown).

At Par Near St Blazey, William Shopland married a Miss ? Squire, and they sired eight children. William is thought to have come from Somerset/Devon Borders. Any information would be welcome, either about him or Miss Squire.

Hello , My gggrandfather was William Mitchell b1798 in Cornwall, he married Elizabeth Rosewarne and had 11 children. one child , Thomas Mitchell b1834 came to New Brunswick Canada and made a successful life . Another child Mary Mitchell b1832 stayed in St. Blazey and married Thomas Oliver . I would love to find information about my gggrandfathers parents etc , and more about my English cousins. Gilbert - St Blazey
Looking for additional information on Gilbert family appearing in 1841 Census in Biscovey area of St. Blazey: Joseph Gilbert (miner), born c1815; Susan/Susanna (wife) born c1820 (nee Chappell?); daughter Elizabeth, born c1838 and infant sons William and John. I believe family emigrated to USA in 1846. Elizabeth may have died before 1846 and be buried in St. Blazey. Methodist Church records also sought. Joseph was apparently born in Teath (spelling?). I am trying to trace details of the family of John and Elizabeth Varcoe (she came from Calstock)who appear in the 1851 census in St Blazey and had several children including Thomas, Sarah, John, Henry, George, William and Elizabeth. John was a miner (? of what). The son Thomas moved to St Blazey's Gate and his son Tom went to Bristol.

My Grandmother Ada Moyses married Lawrence Sykes in 1909. He died between 1909 and 1912 when Ada remarried my Grandfather Ernest Gordon. Any information on this triangle would be greatfully received. How did Lawrence die?

Key Family - St Blazey/Biscovay - St Blazey
My Key family ancestors Joseph and Sally Key (nee Brokenshire) lived in the St Blazey area in the late 1820's. Joseph was a blacksmith. Three of their children John, Caroline and James Brokensha were born or baptised there between 1825 and 1831. Joseph's father, Nicholas died there in 1828. He was said to be a resident of Biscovay. The family later moved to St Just in Penwith in the 1830s where they stayed until the 1880's when my part of the family moved to Brotton, N.Yorks. I am happy to share more information with anyone who is interested.

TONKINs & RUNDLEs of St Blazey in early 1840s - St Blazey
Wm Tonkin m Elizabeth RUNDLE in 1840 on arrival in Sth Australia. His parents William & Elizabeth WELLINGTON emigrated to SA in 1847 along with there family Jane & John ROWE, Mary & William THOMAS, John, Joel, Absalom, Harriet, Elizabeth, Jabez, Samuel & Charles. John ROWE's sister Ann Croggan ROWE and her husband William WALKOM also came to SA. As far as I can determine Elizabeth RUNDLE was the eldest daughter of John RUNDLE. Her mother was possibly also Elizabeth.

MITCHELL - St Blazey
Elizabeth Mitchell born c1827 married 1854 in Par to Matthew Henry East, mine agent of Calstock. They came to South Australia in 1862 with their four sons. Elizabeth’s parents were William and Elizabeth Mitchell, and other children were William 1820, Matthew 1825, Joseph 1829, Catharine 1830, Mary 1832, Thomas 1834, Caroline 1836, Eliza Jane 1838, Ann Maria 1840, Hester Ann 1841 and John 1844. St Blazey is given in census records as the birthplace of children born after 1830. Joseph married Caroline and moved to Tavistock, Mary married Richard Oliver, Thomas married Mary (emigrated?), Caroline married Henry Snell (emigrated?), and Hester married Philip Crews (to Canada in 1873). Is anyone else researching this family?

tibbett langsford - St. Blazey Gate
Am looking for any information aviable on the family of my grandmother. She was born feb 19,1881 at st.blazey gate. her mother was caroline hambly, her fathers last name was tibbett, know nothing else about him. She married william langsford who died in 1905. She had one son, possibly two who also died. the one boy that we know of for sure was burried at st. mary's parish church, biscovey. She came to Canada in 1905 where she met and married my grandfather thomas strubley harris.

Levas or Levis of St. Breock - St Breock
It would be interesting to hear from anyone who knows of the Levas/Levis family who lived in St. Breock around 1841. It is believed they changed their surname to Levey later on especially when my Great Great Grandfather Richard Levey is traced to living in Greenwich in 1866.

My ancestry Jonathan Davy (Davey)lived in St Breock in the 1840's and early 1850's moving on to Padstow. Jonathan was a carpenter his wife was Mary and they had three children Elizabeth, William and Jonathan.

I am searching for any information on the descendants and siblings, parents and ancestors of Sarah BROWN, who married a William FRENCH on 31 Aug 1730 at St. Breward, Cornwall, England. She would have been born about 1710. All of her six known children were baptized at St. Breward, Cornwall, England between 1731 and 1746. Of her daughters, Elizabeth md. David SIMONS; Mary md. Thomas BRENT; Anne md. William MATTHEW; and Sarah md. John SMITH. Of her sons, William II md. Ann REYNOLDS (they are my 4GGParents); and Henry md. Grace PASMORE. I have no information on any of William and Sarah's grandchildren except through William II.

His family were from Devonport but in subsequent censuses Bridget gave her place of birth as St Buryan. I am interested in anyone researching the family of Richard Glanville who married Lucy Veal at St.columb Major 27/2/1802. They had a farm called "Tresithney". Their son Daniel Glanville was my Great Great Great Grandfather, he was born 2/2/1819. Most Glanville lines go back to Ranulf de Glanvill, a judge, in the time of King Richard in the 10th Century.

Hoyle Family - St Columb Major
I am looking for information on Annie Hoyle, born St Columb Major in 1879, daughter of James and Ellen, sibling to William, Walter, Emma Alma, Ivy, Herbert, Harry, Edwina and Ellen. Annie was in Manchester in 1920 where she gave birth to a son, Emma married Francis Roadnight in 1904 and died in Eastbourne in 1969, Edwina married into the Cord family and lived in Birmingham. It is Annie I am especially interested in though any information on the family may help.
