PAPPIN = PEPPIN / PEPING? Also MORCOMB, TEAGUE, & LUXMORE families
- Probus
Was Grace Pappin actually Grace Peppin / Peping? Given that Grace Pappin were of Probus family circa 1750 - 1850, and that her children were Thomas Morcomb (bpt.1813), Jonathon (bpt. 1818), Mary Ann (bpt. c1821), Richard (bpt 1824) and Henry (bpt.1826), and that Grace marr. Thomas Teague - although none of her children bear his surname - does any of the following fit in with her family history?
1) Thomas MORCOMB, bapt. 6.4.1792 at St. Enoder ( Truro / St. Austell ), son of John & Elizabeth (nee Williams) MORCOMB. [ John Morcomb (bapt. 2.2.1750 at St. Columb Minor) was son of John MORCOMB & Jane ROBERTS, them married 22.2.1747 at St. Mawgan-in-Pydar, Lanherne-RC ]. The MORCOMB family are ancestors of the TRESISE family of Mawnan Smith.
2) Thomas MORCOMB’s sisters were Grace & Elizabeth, his brothers George, Richard, William, John, and, Josiah [ Josiah was one of the ancestors of the TRESISE family of Mawnan Smith ]. All were baptised between January 1790 and April 1819, and all but for William, John, and, Josiah ( all baptised at St. Mawgan ) were baptised at St. Enoder ( Truro / St. Austell ).
3) Edward TEAGUE married Catherine PEPPIN, in December 1826, at Redruth parish church of St. Uny.
4) Weddings of Mary Ann PEPPINs are recorded upon 20.4.1826 at Falmouth, to Hugh GEORGE, and, upon 11.2.1832 at Lanlivery (Lostwithiel), to Peter HILL.
5) A Mary Anne Peppin LUXMORE is on record - it is not known whether she assumed the LUXMORE name upon her marriage. She were of Kenwyn, Truro. An Henry LUXMORE were clerk of Saville Row, London, in 1854, and, the Rev. Henry LUXMORE of London in 1875, he taking title to deeds of property in Probus on 7.3.1854 with Thomas Stackhouse CARLYON of Leicester ( ? also of Trehane, Probus, and, Tregrehan, St. Blazey, nr. St. Austell ? ), the title of the property there passing from Loveday Sarah GREGOR ( nee GLANVILLE ) & her son of Trewarthenick, Tregony, nr. Truro. Mary Anne Peppin LUXMORE became Mary Anne Peppin PAUL upon marriage in 1828 to William PAUL, Gent, them buying Southleigh in Lemon Street, Truro. William PAUL died in 1841. Mary Anne Peppin PAUL became Mary Anne Peppin ROBERTS upon her second marriage in 1850, her second husband being Joseph ROBERTS, Gent, solicitor of Truro, who had been in partnership with William PAUL. [ Note : the Peppin family may be of Huguenot descent, the Huguenots having tradition of women keeping their family name upon marriage ].
6) Henry PAPPIN bapt. 1826, may or may not be Henry PEPING born c1830 at Probus, he marrying Jane [ b. c1831 at St. Tue or Tuo (?) - could this be St. Ewe ? ]. Children born to this couple - with birthplace in brackets - were Grace Ann b. 1861 (St. Austell), George b. 1863 (St. Austell), Elizabeth b. 1866 (Plymouth), Annie b. 1869 (Hennock ( ?or Hennocknowle?), Devon ), and Matilda b. 1872 ( Liskeard ). Two older daughters were born also [ ... could one be Loveday Gertrude b. 1855 (Helston)?....]. If the PEPPIN / PEPING family were of Huguenot descent, then residence in Plymouth would be significant, as there were an Huguenot settlement in East Stonehouse, Plymouth. .... The Hennock connection is believed to be with mining....
7) Were the PEPPIN / PEPING / PAPPIN family / families associated with the notable Cornish families of GREGOR ( see above ) and MOYLE ( of Bake (sic), near St. Germans) ? Or even the CARLYONS ?
Can anyone here make any connections between these disparate notes? Would be most grateful for a lead. Thanks.

Sanders
- Probus
Trying to find info on Ann (aka Nancy) Sanders. Born in Probus about 1831 she had a number of children out of wedlock before moving to New Zealand. She arrived in NZ about 1874 with 4 children. Ann (Nancy) had at least another 2 children, a daughter, who I believe died the year she was born and a son William Henry Sanders, born about 1850. It is possible he stayed here when Ann moved to NZ, meaning there could be relatives in the area. I would love to make contact.
Ann married Joseph Saundercock from Ladock in NZ.

Ruse/Rouse
- Redruth
James Ruse married Mary Ann Daniell in 1842 Redruth district Cornwall.
They had a son "Vivian Loyd Budge Ruse" who married in Thuro Cornwall to Elizabeth Sololmon.
Vivian & Elizabeth Ruse went out to live in New Zealand in 1873,where thesurname for some reason went from Ruse to Rouse.
I have come across a James Budge who married a Mary Vivian, which I may think be connected to the family tree and would explain why Vivian Loyd Budge Ruse has such a long name ( being that of his forebearers)
Anyone out there with any connection to the Ruse/Rouse ,Daniell,Budge or Solomon families of Cornwall would love to hear from you.
