Richard Rose born abt 1762 - Penzance
Richard Rose served as a warrant officer/gunner in the British Navy 1793 - 1811. In a muster on the ship 'Suffolk' in 1793 he gave his place of birth as Penzance. That would have been about 1762. There are just no Roses born around Penzance, Cornwall around that time. Any suggestions? His childrens' names - William Henry and Rachel Jane - might be a clue to his parents names. Maybe his surname was really Rose-something, like Rosewarne, Rosewall, Rosier, Rosemergy etc. Help will be hugely apreciated.
