I am after information on the Williams family who were builders in Bodmin. Philip Coleman Williams was married to Mary Louise Gill in Bodmin in October 1852 and they emigrated to Australia and raised 10 children there but did have 2 others die in infancy.

Crossley, Syd. Died Bolenowe Nov 1960. - Bolenowe
Syd Crossley had no children and had lived in Bolenowe since 1948. His second wife died 1955 at the same address, viz. Crossley Cottage, Bolenowe nr. Troon. Syd played minor character parts in over 100 films up to 1942, inc'g in Hollywood 1924-1929. He toured with ENSA in the Middle East in WWII. I am keen to find the forenames and birth names of his two wives. Syd started in English music hall in 1900 and was then known as The Long Tall Comic. In 1938 he was living in Colindale, London NW9. His collection of cinema stills was displayed at King's Cinema Camborne following his death at Barncoose Hospital, Redruth. The only mourners at his service at Penmount Crematorium were Walter Edwards, shopkeeper of Troon, and Mrs J Gessey, a near neighbour.

Can anyone tell me where I might find death records for the Boscastle area? I have a photocopy of the birth certificate of my great (great?) aunt, Edith Mary Vanstone, b. March 7, 1893. Someone has written in the corner "Died Wednesday, February 28, 1912 (1/4 to 7 P.M.) at Boscastle. Rest in Peace through Christ Jesus our Savior, Amen." By 1912, she would be 19 years old. I MAY have found a marriage (is age 15 young for that era to marry or fairly common?) in 1908. Any ideas?? Thank you

Date Family - Breage
I am researching my family line on my father's side. When I originally posted my details on the site some months ago, I believed that I decended from the Date family who were based in Somerset. Through research, I now know that this is incorrect as my decendants were from Cornwall, namely from Constantine, Breage and Sithney. Through the willingness of others to share information, I have amassed a great deal which I am slowly putting onto a family tree. BASSETT family between 1820 to 1851 - Breage
John Bassett and Martha Carbis, married in the Paul parish in 1812, and lived in St Hilary from 1815 to 1820. The couple moved from St Hillary and then lived in various places in Breage between 1820 and 1851 before leaving the area. Evidence of where they were lived in Breage can be found in two of the local parish churches and also in the 1841 and 1851 census records Parish Church Records - John & Martha’s children who were christened in Breage are found in the following parish churches are as follows:- the Germoe church:- • John 1820 (IGI) • Francis 1823 (Transcribed from the Parish Records by the On line Parish Clerk) • Anne 1826 (IGI) • Martha 1828 (IGI) • Samuel 1838 (Transcribed from the Parish Records by the On line Parish Clerk) the St Breaca church:- • James 1833 who was also burried in this church in 1833 (Transcribed Parish Records by a fellow researcher) • James 1834 (Transcribed from the Parish Records by a fellow researcher) (It appears as though these churches were quite close together, according to the Parish Locator program about 2 miles apart, why the family had various children christened in two different churches is unknown. According to Genuki “Germoe has been considered as a separate parish for many years, but the Church has been subordinate to that of Breage. It is located in the far south-west of Cornwall, sandwiched between the parishes of Godolphin and Breage. This was eminently a mining parish, but it also had some good farms. My own branch of the BODY Family originates in nearby QUETHIOCK. My Gx5 Grandfather, John BODY, married Thomasine TOLL at St. Hughs Parish Church, QUETHIOCK, in July 1731. In the Course of my research, I have traced several other Branches of the BODYFamily, in EASTERN CORNWALL and WESTERN DEVON. Among these are the BODY Family in CALLINGTON. I have traced them back to William BODY and Elizabeth CONDY, who married, about 1827, at STOKE CLIMSLAND, CORNWALL. Most of their Children were born in Callington. William BODY was born, on 25 November 1798, probably in SOUTHILL, CORNWALL. I have traced the Ancestors of William BODY back to his GX2 Grandparents, Stephen BODY and Phillipa CRAGOE, who married, on 6 April 1702, at St. Cuby Parish Church,DULOE, CORNWALL. I have details of MANY OTHER BODY DESCENDANTS OF THIS COUPLE, IN CORNWALL, OTHER COUNTIES IN ENGLAND AND OVERSEAS. I would like to exchange information with other Researchers.

Looking for information on, or descendents of, Mary Barrett, also known as Mary Barrett Geake (nee Pearse). She was born at Pillaton in 1798 and had an illigitimate son (Robert Pearce, 1827). She then married a labourer named Richard Barrett Geake and lived at Moonfields Cottages, Callington in the 1840s / 50s but known variously as Mary Geake or Mary Barrett. Likewise, her sons variously used either Barret or Geake as a surname : Richard 1832/ Edward 1834 / Archelaus 1839. They were probably all born in Callington. the name Archelaus comes from further back in the PEARSE line (Pillaton). Any connections here ??
