My great-great-grandfather's name was Jacob Eddy, born in 1818 married to Eliza born 1826. They had 6 children, Annie born in Kea in 1855, Mary J. born in Kea in 1858, Mark (my great-grandfather born in 1859, and died in Virginia, Mn. in 1916. I knowhe was divorced before he came to the US I'd like to find out who his first wife was I think it was Abigail Ambrose, but I can't find out any more. There was also Fanny born in 1861 Claria born in 1864, and Bessie born 1864 I'm assuming they were twins. All the children were born in Kea. Jacob was born in Perranarworthal, his wife was born in Cubert. I would appreciate any information that you could give me.

My gt.gt.grandfather Andrew Truscott, was a pilot at the Padstow Lifeboat Station. He lost his life on the 6th February, 1867 endeavouring to assist the crew of an American Schooner at the entrance of Padstow Harbour. A memorial tablet is erected in the Parish Church at Padstow. Andrew was born in 1827, his parents William Truscott and Mary nee Elvens/Elvin. William and Mary were married at St.Stephen's in Brannel 27 April 1802, but so far I haven't been able to trace the ancestry of William Truscott and Mary Elvans back any further. There are so many William Truscott's, which is the correct one? If anyone can help me I would be most grateful, I have been trying to solve this mystery for more years than I can mention. Thank you.

The first firm record that I have of my 3x great grandparents, John Bassett and Martha Carbis, in Cornwall is their marriage Banns, which took place in the Paul parish church on the 15 Mar 1812. Both appear to be of the Paul parish "John Bassett Sojouner of this Parish and Martha Carbis of this Parish" It is most likely that at least Martha was christened in the Paul parish church as it was the custom of the day that marriages took place in the brides's church. This assumption is reinforced by the 1851 & 1861 census returns where Paul is listed as Martha's birthplace. In the same census returns John is listed as being born in Madron,a neighbouring parish.
