My grandfather, Charles Warren Burston was born in Bunbury in 1855. He had several brothers and sisters also born here. I believe that his father , Joseph, born 1801 was a grocer. Joseph married Elizabeth Augusta Grinsell of Market Dreayton in 1840. I would be glad of any info . about the family. Stephanie.

Mountfield - Bunbury
I am trying to find my Great Grandfather, John James Mountfield who was born about 1863 in Bunbury. According to the 1871 census he was a nursling with a family by the name of Woodfin, they were from Barrow, Cheshire. According to this census John James was born Alpraham but others state Bunbury. I am almost certain John James Mountfields parents were Henry Mountfield born about 1841 in Stoak and Eliza Ann Yates born about 1844 in Middlesex, London. I would really love to be able to tie John James Mountfield to Henry & Eliza. I think also Henry's parents might have been Samuel Mountfield & Mary Unknown, both born about 1804 Middlewich. The only other information I have is Hery had a brother William born about 1839 also in Stoak.

Would appreciate any information about the Clarke family from Bunbury. In 1838 Thomas Clarke married Sarah Davenport b.1820 (parents James Davenport & Mary Growcot) and they had children Ann, Rachel, Harriet, Solomon, Sampson, Adam & Ruth. In 1861 Ann Clarke b.1838 married Joseph Siddorn b.1841(parents Samuel Siddorn & Ellen Griffiths). They had 9 children Agnes, Mary, Sarah Jane, George, Annie, Ellen, Elizabeth, Harriet and Joe (my grandfather). At some time around 1871 the family appear to have moved to Tarporley.

In 1861 Joseph Siddorn b.1841 (parents Samuel Siddorn & Ellen Griffiths)married Ann Clarke b.1838 (parents Thomas Clarke & Sarah Davenport). Known children are Joseph b.1841 and Ann b.1847 both in Bunbury. In 1861 & 1871 family were on census living in Bunbury. Joseph Siddorn married Ann Clarke in 1861 and believe Ann Siddorn may have had a son William born about 1868.

Robert TAYLOR married Martha DUTTON in St Boniface Bunbury in 1733 and has a Monumental Inscription there. He died in 1799 aged 87, Martha in 1786 aged 75, both in Haughton. Martha's parents were Edward DUTTON and Margaret STOCKTON, but so far I haven't been able to discover any more about Robert TAYLOR.

Any details of descendents or ancestors for: William Nield (1820-1875). Born in Bunbury to William Nield and Eliza Bunts. William jnr, became an engine driver and worked in England, France (where he married Elizabeth Roscoe), Scotland, Rio, Spain and settled in Australia where he died in 1875. He had five children, Mary (1847-1935), Frederick (1848-1920), WIlliam (1849-1930), John (1851-1923) and Thomas (1854-1893). All children migrated to Austalia.

Hugh Byron was my great great grandfather. He travelled down from Sorbie (see SORBIE village) to Burton, Wirral, Cheshire between 1851 and 1856. At his time he had two boys John (b.1846) and Stewart (b.1851 in Sorbie).Like Hugh, Stewart stayed in Burton until he died in 1925 aged 74. John married Mary and moved to ANTROBUS (Cheshire) where he was a gardener at Comberbach House. I have c.1870s photos the family. I have copies of the census entries from 1851 to 1901. War memorial and graves - Cheadle
3 Wrench brothers, Arthur, Fred and John died during WW1, if there is a war memorial that contains their names would anyone be willing to take a digital photo of the whole memorial and the panel containing their names and email them to me. Mary Sophia Small, born 1834 Cheadle Cheshire, died 1896. buried 1st December 1896 at St Mary’s Cheadle.. Mary married William Parker, son of John Parker, on 30th April 1860 at Christ Church, Heaton Norris Lancashire. Her father was William Small, born in Cheadle, possibly in 1771, died 1841. William was a painter. Mary Sophia may have had a sister Alice. Would appreciate any information.

David Collier was born 1721 in Cheadle. He became a CLOCKMAKER in the Cheadle and Gatley area, as did his son John Collier (b 1762). David was buried at St Mary's, Cheadle in 1792, and John in 1816. John Collier's daughter Ellen married John CHEETHAM of Gatley, and had a son John Cheetham who founded a Hat Manufacturing business in Hyde and was twice Mayor of that town.
