Evans - Kaumann In Wybunbury
- Wybunbury
In 1963, aged 13, I spent a few days with some long lost relatives in what I believe to be now called a 'Rose Cottage' on the outskirts of Wybunbury. My distant relative a Maude Evans was married to former German POW Horst Kaumann. Maude's brother lived next door in the attached cottage which I observed briefly in 1998 from the height of a Transit Van whilst passing. This attached cottage appears to have been extended substantially since 1963. The property I believe to be called 'Rose Cottage' still looked quite the same in 1998. I know that Maude's brother and sister in law were Roman Catholics. I have since tried to gather any info. on where any of these may be buried (as I presume all must be now deceased) from the local Church in Wybunbury but without result. I have a photo of Horst and Maude. Further members of the Evans family resided in the Heaton Norris and Reddish areas of Stockport. I currently live in Wilmslow, Cheshire. (Thanks.)
