Sentenced to Death for housebreaking at the Chester Assizes at the Shire Hall 23 March 1833, Before Mr Justice Patterson and Mr Baron Bayley. "George Webb, late of the parish of Great Budworth in the County of Cheshire, Labourer, was charged that on 3rd November 1832 he was quilty of housebreaking at the house of Richard Willat and stole a silver watch and £23.7.0 in coin". George Webb pleaded not guilty. "The jurors say guilty". His sentence was commuted "transport for life". Sailed from Portsmouth and arrived in Sydney Australia on "Aurora" on 3 Nov 1833. Looking for any family descendants that may be still living in the UK.
