Elizabeth Wood, daughter of John (1795) and Ellen(1801), was born in Northwich in 1849, later the family moved to West Derby, Lancashire where she married Richard Hampton in 1869 and became my 2x great grandmother. Her brother Joseph, also born Northwich, 1843, lived with them and they eventually moved to Birkenhead, Cheshire. There was also a sister Sarah born 1840 in Northwich. Can anyone prove Ellen's maiden name or the place of birth, or date of marriage of John and Ellen?

Nova Scotia Military History - Nova Scotia
I would like to know more about Nova Scotia in England. The only Nova Scotia I've ever known before researching my ancestors in West Riding of York was Nova Scotia Canada. My gg grandfather was in the British Army from 1854-1872 and we were told he was stationed in Nova Scotia and that was all. No one said Canada we just assumed it was there. Could he possibly have been stationed in Nova Scotia in England? Any information would be really, appreciated. He had family living in Allerton Bywater West Riding of York. Would love to learn more about this area of England.

I am researching the Buckley family who lived in Occlestone from the late 1700's through to the late 1800's. My direct line is Ralph b 3/12/1853, son of James & Sarah. Harry Birchall - Ollerton
Harry Birchall husband of Sofia. Lived on Chelford Road, Ollerton, Knutsford Cheshire D3. He died on the Somme 1916. His photograph (on war graves site) is almost identical to my grandad Henry Leslie Birchall from Bury 1886-1973.

James MARTIN married ELLEN MONTFORD in 1809 at St Chad's, Over. The only child of their's that I know of, my 3x great grandmother, Martha MARTIN married William JONES in Whitchurch in 1830. At Martha's christening in 1810, James was a labourer, but when William JONES died and Martha married Frank HAMPSON in Nantwich, she said James MARTIN was a gardener. Does anyone know of Enoch Bratt, of Townfields Over, who was a bell ringer at St Chads? I believe there is a photo of him in the St. Chads magazine of 1908 celebrating 40 years as a bell ringer at that church. Enoch was born 13-11-1842 and married Anne Edge on 14-6-1863 at Whitegate. He later married Elizabeth Pimlott on 29-5-1893. His parents were Joseph and Anne Bratt. Any in formation gratefully received.

I am looking for information on the family of Thomas Walton born ca.1805 at Overton Cheshire. Thomas was charged at Cheadle with stealing bacon from Jeremiah Wardle. He was convicted at Cheshire Quarter Sessions in april 1828 and transported to Tasmania, Australia. His record stated he was 24 and a native of Overton Cheshire. I believe his parents were John and Margaret Walton of Overton. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Caroline's mother was Mary Ann Jones who lived in Wales, on a small Island, probably the Isle of Man, in a place with Valley as part of its name. William's father was Roger Kelly. William and Caroline had two children, Phyllis and William who became Bernardo Children and came to Canada. Family lived in Port Sunlight and then Liverpool. William may have had a sister Lee or Lea.
