I am the grandaughter of Arthur Potter born in 1899 in Lymm. My father was Reginald Potter. I've traced back to his grandparents William and Hannah(formerly James} in Lymm in 1899 he was a brickburner. Anyone got any information that can help me go back further please? Priscilla.

I am searching for Catherine Antrobus born 22nd January 1797 daughter of Thomas and Ellen Antrobus of Lymm. She married William Carter in 1814 and moved to William Street in Warrington. James Williamson of Lymm m Alice Parker at Bowdon 1764. They had son George who m a Margaret and they in turn had a daughter Ann in 1819. Joseph and Rachel Ratcliffe had a son John who m Mary Worral in 1788 and they had a son James in 1790. James Ratcliffe married Ann Williamson in 1842 in Warrington. This is all I have - can anyone fill in gaps?

On 1841 census my 3xtimes Gt Grandparents lived in the terraced houses near the Gas Works.James was a painter. The family at that date were Hannah14, James10,John3, Caroline7, Jonathan1(my2xtimes Gt Grandfather) The children appear to have worked insilk and cotton industries. TURNER, Job of Macclesfield - Macclesfield
JOB TURNER was born circa 1827 Macclesfield. He was convicted of a crime in Chester - can't find any info on what it was, but would appreciate it if anyone knows how I can find out! - in August 1843. He was employed as a tailor and continued his trade while in prison. On 24.7.1845 a warrant was issued granting him a conditional Royal Pardon - go to Australia or else! So of course he did. And that's about all I have on him. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows of other Turners in or around Macclesfield - Chester area.

I am researching John Walton and have found conflicting (surprise!) information regarding his place of birth. I would deeply appreciate it if someone could check local sources to see if a John Walton was born in Macclesfield approx. 1823 (this is from the 1871 Census). I believe its more likely that he was born in or around Eccles, Lancashire (where we have traced his descendants) but so far I have not been able to find his birth information there either.
