In following generations the family used the surname they seemed to fancy at the time. Thanks, G.

Arthur from nowhere!
- Lymm
In 1900 Arthur Edward Leigh arrived from nowhere and into the history of my family.
He married Minnie Gatley of Northwich in 1903 and Minnie died 6 years later. Arthur then remarried Frances Jane Sands of Northwich and they had 2 sons before Arthur died in 1922 from influenza.
There is no knowledge of his background except that my father, who was Arthurs younger son ,
was told' He had family down south'
Thanks to internet info. and census research we now suspect he may have been the younger son of George Henry and Jane Leigh of Lymm.
My father who is 91 years old is naturally curious about his fathers past. Does anyone in the Lymm area know any anecdotal evidence about the said Arthur Edward Leigh born about 1878?
