I am trying to find out more about my ancestors, Mary (Hannah) Plant (born 1864 in Henbury) I believe, who married a John Barber, of Macclesfield, Cheshire. They were married in Sheffield Cathedral, but I don't have that date. Did they have connections in the church? He was a silk weaver. I am also interested in finding out more about Joseph France born in Cheshire on Dec 15, 1862, and also his mother, Alice France. She did not raise him so he may have been illigitimate. Where did she go and who did she marry? The Joseph France above was raised by an uncle of the same name. he worked as a baker but then went in to banking.

Possibly, they were married there as well???? Later would come siblings JOHN O'KEEFE,(Abt. 1867), and sister MARY O'KEEFFE, (Abt. 1869), before relocating to LIVERY STREET, Manchester. The 2G Grandfather Daniel O'Keeffe, was a taylor by trade, but took in many boarders. His son, (my 1G Grandfather Daniel O'Keeffe), was a watchmaker apprentice. Later still, 1G would emigrate to Long Island, New York, USA. His new bride MARY ANNE MELIA, would follow in 2 years with their young son; DANIEL JOSEPH O'KEEFE, JR, (my grandfather). Children: Jonathan, born 1848; Ambrose, born 1849; Jane, born 1851; Harriet, born 1853; Hannah, born 1855; Frances, born 1858; Sandford, born 1861; Margaret, born 1862; Elizabeth, born 1865. No mention of a father but Charles Williams was living with them in 1861 census as the Head of household. He was stepfather to Elizabeth (the mother) and step grandfather to all the children.
