Harry Barker of Mablins Lane - Coppenhall

Henry ('Harry') Barker married Eliza Handley and they lived at 23 Mablins lane, Coppenhall. They had 5 children - Ethel, Evelyn, Annie, Alice and Hilda Mary. Harry was illegitimate and his mother Emma Barker - so family legend has it - was made pregnant by someone at the farm where she was 'in service'. Emma eventually married James Barnes who, my mother used to say, 'took Harry in and brought him up as if he were his own.' Any links?

George Davies - Cranage
I'm looking for the origins of George Davies, my grandfather, working at Massey Feeds, Cranage, Cheshire at the time of his wedding on 16th. Feb. 1909. He married Harriett Maud Wood at the age of 24 and is recorded in his marriage certificate as a Miller. His father's name was also George, a Foreman and not recorded as deceased. My grandfather died on 21st. Jan. 1948, age 63 and is buried with his wife in the cemetery opposite the cottage where they lived in Cranage. Witnesses at his wedding were John William and Annie Simpson. Annie was George's sister and they were married on 29th. Feb. 1907 - Annie was 21 at the time and her father was a Warehouseman, also not recorded as deceased. The only references I can find of Annie and George are as follows. The 1891 Census records Annie, 4, born in Davenham, Northwich, Cheshire in Sept. 1886. George, 7, born in Peplow, Shropshire in March 1884. Both living as step children, with William Berry (William married Sarah Ellen Davies at St. Helen's Witton, Northwich in Dec. 1888) and are recorded as living at 22, Verdin St., Witton, Northwich. The 1901 Census now records William Berry as a widower (Sarah Ellen died in Northwich in Dec. 1899). Also living with were his sons, William, 11, James, 8, George, 2 and Amy Davies, 18, recorded as William's step daughter, born in Manchester in 1883. The 1891 Census records Amy as the daughter of Thomas and Mary Davies, born in Manchester in 1883. William's other sons were all born in Northwich and the family were recorded as still living at 22, Verdin St. Witton. An Annie Davies, age 14, is recorded as a Domestic Servant for Arthur H. Smith, Insurance Clerk and his wife, Marie, at Stockport Road, Altricham, Cheshire. I can't find any records of my grandfather, George Davies that I can link back to Annie or Sarah Ellen in the 1901 Census. I do have a photo of my grandfather in WW1 Army uniform, taken as a group photo with officers, sergeants corporals and privates, however I have no idea of the location or regiment I would also like to find out more about my great grandfather, George.
